If De Boer is stylistically similar to AVB then I don't want him in. That's not to say I demand gung-ho Ossie-style 3-2-5 formations from the Spurs manager, but I want someone who sets their teams up to play high-tempo football. Lots of pressing when we don't have the ball, and lots of tempo and movement when we do have the ball, please.

FDB's Ajax press constantly, I dont know if AVB's Porto did or not, but Ajax do not do the suicidal thing we did which is a high line yet no pressing from midfield or the forwards, Ajax press everywhere as they want to get the ball back high up the pitch where they have the numbers to hurt the opposition (Much like Munich and Barca) when they have controlled possession they do like to wait until they sense openings though, but the overall game is just played that bit faster so that it always feels like it has a cohesion and a purpose

Wow, that's really interesting, and very humble of him. Sounds to me like he's saying that he lacks the experience for a club of that magnitude, and he'd be right. It's a huge step up and he'll have to deal with some pretty big egos and reputations.

I think he'd be very open to coming to us, it would make perfect sense. The players aren't too big for him, and he knows a couple already. If he can imprint a successful philosophy at our club and make us more respectable like Rodgers has done for Liverpool, it'll do wonders for his reputation. Sure, we'd be a stepping stone, but aren't we always? Look at how many players use us to get to bigger clubs.

If he can come in and get us fighting again, playing good organised football, then when he leaves we'll be in a much better position, and we'll be a more attractive prospect for a manager of LVG or Ancelotti's calibre to want to take over.
