Not by fans on this site, even if he went on to score six
He's one of those players like jeans tends to score and assist and is still hated... think he's better in that front midfield 3 rather than the two. He's not a deep defensive type...

He's done well tonight, especially 2nd half. There's not too many players I'd be happy to let go. Lennon or Townsend maybe but that's about it.

Agree, i really was unimpressed by Andros tonight, one or two nice moves when he played it simple but 90% of the time he was a mess. I thought Sandro, Paulinho, Vlad and Kane all looked very good tonight but you can tell they are missing match fitness/sharpness but i really hope they all stay. Give them more match time and they will come good, i'm positive.

Only way I see him working is in a 3 man midfield.

Should we sign Schneiderlin, something like:

----------- Capoue -------- Schneiderlin -------------
------------------- Paulinho -------------------------
- Lamela --------------------------------- Eriksen ---
------------------ Adebayor -------------------------

I wouldn't quite see it as a 4-2-3-1 as I see him and Schneiderlin switching if Schneiderlin were to get forward given Poch likes him in the B2B role and Paulinho would likely start a bit deeper from the offset. I just view it as a way to give us a tad more physicality in the middle even if he's not exactly the most overly talented in terms of breaking up play.
Think this could be the way to go in difficult games. ie away to Chavs & City

Townsend was terrible tonight, but I thought Lennon did well. Poch will probably love Lennon as do all Spurs managers as tactically he's good, he follows instructions, he works his socks off and he's got a lot of pace and stamina.

And he frustrates the fuck out of you with very little end product.

Really think Paulinho will prosper under Pochettino. Has to be played in the three as well, like tonight.

Signs were very good this evening and remember he was flanked by Azza and AT - imagine him interchanging with genuine number ten types in Eriksen and Lamela, could score a bucket load.

Well, I think

Sandro out MS in (Sorry Sandro :()
Townsend out Welbeck in now.

I think that'd do, but I wouldn't mind a touch more creativity.

Absolutely. Really, really hope we keep him. I think we need to improve on Townsend, ideally someone else with pace.
I'm loving what seen so far from Poch, and it's only like 2months into his reign

He'll give us goals. I think he should be given as much a chance under poch as Lamela. He wasn't picked for Brazil as part of a bet.

I'm still not seeing a player who is technically good enough to start for us in the attacking three. I was there tonight. Some of his passing was horrid and his first touch is heavy, he slows down play. I think it's worth noting that Limassol, while spirited, were poor. I thought Kane looked more dangerous and technically superior to Paulinho to be honest. There's no way I'd be looking to take Chadli out and put him in, no way.

I honestly would not care either way if he goes or stays. If he does stay, however, I would want him playing the #10 - he will get us goals, I'm sure of that. He's an intriguing player, though not very quick thinking or extremely technically gifted. I don't think anyone will buy him so I've accepted that he's staying and I can see the positives of it.

There are some huge question marks over Paulinho and I don't think one half decent performance against a poor side changes anything. No knee jerking from me. The jury's very much out and I still need convincing.

Don't think he was slowing play down tonight at all and he's clearly still pretty rusty in terms of touch...but an assist a goal and a contribution towards the first goal ain't a bad evening's work...nearly another assist as well had Lennon's chip been successful.

I think that's plenty of end product to warrant giving consideration to playing him in the three.

I wouldn't be taking Chadli out of the side yet either, but we'll need quality options throughout the squad this season and that's what its all about in terms of having a successful season on as many fronts as possible.

When will people get this ideal first eleven stuff out of their heads.

Townsend will not be going I have been hearing Pochettino is working on him to be effective off either flank shooting, crossing etc... I think he has some talent so probably should be given a chance to improve this season.

I saw a guy who is feeling his way into a new position/role/tactics. I thought at times he looked lost out there, but other times he made plays. I am not going to get fussed whether he stays or goes, I liked that he was moved up to the AM-3 role, since I though he was really lacking in the CM-2 role last week. He is not a finished product up there, but he showed signs of being useful, particularly if you surrounded him with better players - like Eriksen and Lamela, instead of Lennon and Townsend.

For Paulinho to be effective in the front 3, I feel he need a Lamela or a Eriksen, or both, beside him, not Townsend or Lennon. He need players that can play the ball through or behind their defense.

Indeed. Have said this in the match thread tonight and a couple of posts above.

Surround him with plenty of wit and guile, in Eriksen and Lamela, and I'm sure they'd all interchange very effectively...not to mention Ade holding it up and laying it off to him. Could get close to 20 goals in that set up.

I feel rather vindicated by his performance tonight as myself and a handful of others were saying his best position would likely be as one of the 3 behind the striker. I thought he played well and showed several nifty ideas. A lot of our chances came from plays off his foot and it's nice to see him cap the display off with a goal and an assist.

I hope we keep him as backup to Eriksen.

It's also a great way to get his goal scoring ability on the pitch but limit his defensive responsibilities.
