I thought he was massively greedy at times, to be honest. Half a dozen times where he had a really good passing option on in the second half yet didn't get his head up and tried to go himself. He overcomplicates things.

Yet he was still one of our most effective players, gives a lot to look forward to when he is fully settled, adapted and in full swing without a weight on his shoulders ala Chadli. He has genuine natural ability and is still young. So much potential.

Dare I say it as I think Vlad is not good enough as a CB in the premier league but we may have luckily learnt a couple of things today.
Stick him RB
Put Dier in his preferred CB position beside Verts and Davies at LB.
Try that for a few games.
Never stick Erikson on the wing!
Good to see some proper width with Lennon back.
Chadli a must ( where was he today?)
Need a more solid midfield and stick with Kane and Soldado up front...

sorry mate but i don't want lennon in the squad let alone the team. unless today is going to become his new level as I said before the last 2 years he's been a waste of space

yes i agree he has been pretty useless. however, if he starts in europe next week and puts in another good performance, then i would like to see him start at the weekend. Lets take it one game at a time.

I agree with you though in that he can become a useful option of the bench with his pace.

As if the pundits are saying Vertonghen made the most of that, go watch La Liga you c**ts. He fell down because he was taken down. He didn't roll around life a mug.

It really doesn't matter if he did. Ramirez kicked out at him and also took a swipe at him with his fist. It might not have been a red 30 years ago, but it is today.

Let off the hook when they went down to 10 men just as we did at Villa. Sure we looked better when Lennon came on but we also had the extra man. Aside from that we look so very disjointed at the moment. If Spurs were a Gingerbread Man we would look a bit like this;

How many times did Lennon's pace put them on the back foot in the whole time he was on ? Both goals came from Eriksen being where he should be before Pochettino put Lennon on and moved Eriksen back to CM.

The only time Lennon got behind their defence was when he was played in by someone. Chiriches got behind their defence more.

Sorry BC but this just shows a lack of understanding of the game. As soon as Lennon came on their defence dropped at least 5 yards, at times if you re-watch the game, you will see Dawson shouting at Robertson to get back as Lennon just moved into the empty space behind him. Now dont get me wrong I dont think Lennon is some sort of saviour and I agree that he can frustrate, however today he did a very good job and should have had 2 assists with the cross for Kane.

It gives us an Option B which means that as an opposition, Hull had something else to think about apart from just compacting the midfield. When Walker is back i think we will see that our central players will get more space as he can be that driving force on the wing. Pace and width is imperative to any team, even the likes of Barcelona have fantastic width which allows their fantastic central players to score.

Don't know what's wrong with him atm. Keep waiting for him to come of age and it just doesn't seem to happen. All the ingredients for a top player appear to be there, but he very seldom looks like one.

I think both opinions of Lamela are true simultaneously. He does those things you say. He also does the good things others say.

There were times when he needs to just do the simple thing and keep the move flowing. But there are also times where he gets on the ball and does make things happen when no-one else is. He also gets stuck in, which for a flouncy **** like him is a fucking positive attribute not to be sniffed at.

Bringing on and the timing of the Chiriches and Lennon subs was very good, and for Lennon it was the perfect scenario. However, we've seen all too often that Lennon struggles against better sides and offers little going forward. He did well today and I'm glad for him.

I completely agree, Lennon frustrates most of the time, but someone with pace just puts defenders on edge and will stop them from bombing forward. We saw that twice today in Bolasie earlier, who I thought was excellent, and Lennon today who did a good job.

Honourable mention for Paulinho, who looked more lethargic and disinterested today than ever before, and that's saying something. Hat's off Pauly.

I thought Vlad did quite well as a right back. I reckon if he trained in the position enough he could become a very good one, I doubt he will tho.

I couldn't disagree more. He got done a couple of times and he wasn't great on the ball, making some poor passes which put us under pressure. He isn't made for the premier league and needs to be moved on.

The Poch out brigade are classic at times.

We lose: His tactics are shit and he can't motivate the players.

We win: Oh the result has nothing to do with Poch.

To be fair, we got bailed out again by the opposition having a man sent off...surely that is pretty much beyond debate, as is the fact that the jury must still be out on Poch. We have rarely even played adequately this season in the prem...let alone played well.

Now I've seen the sending off properly - I don't know what Coleman, Carragher and co are on about. He kicks an opposition player. Verts isn't even looking at Ramirez. He catches Verts below the knee - how the fahook do they know that Verts made the most of it. How do they know that wasn't enough to knock him down. Verts doesn't roll around, he doesn't appeal to the officials, he looks at Ramirez and lifts his hands as if to say WTF are you doing. They mentioned the Beckham red in the World Cup, the difference there is that Beckham doesn't kick out anywhere near as hard as Ramirez, and he makes contact, softly against the hard part of Simeone's leg - it was nowhere near hard enough or in a position to knock him down.

What are we even arguing about here - Livermore and Thudd should have been sent off and, afaiac, Ramires should have been sent off too. And we, and the media are arguing that Ramires might have been a bit soft and Verts might have made more of it than he did (neither of which is true, anyway).

And from what I can see, all Verts does is moves his foot a bit with his hand as he goes past, and not in an aggressive way, just to stop the studs scraping against his leg.
