Fantastic analysis.

Surprised youre not employed to do it for a living.

So very constructive, non sensationalist and balanced.

Why even ask for an opinion?

And, also, you clearly would have seen a player give the ball away more than Lamela today-unless you have watched very little of Spurs. But I dont think thats the case.
I'm being serious ! I couldn't believe how many times he over ran it, lost control was out muscled and gave it away when he tried to play forward. Am I the only one that saw all of this ?

This is one of the posters you don't get in to a discussion with about Lamela if you have something positive to say.

It will not be acknowledged.

Nothing good that he does can ever be seen by certain posters on here.
@2dareis2do I was talking about the chap you quoted, not your good self (y)

Don't argue with him. He played at a level you could only dream of.

What's the alternative? Analyse how ineffectual Pochettino has been in implementing his approach? Sometimes the only solution is to try and find humour in the mess we're in.

No we weren't great today. We weren't average either. We were incredibly poor. Again.

Of course I wanted us to win - I always do. I tell you what though, I would have been a lot happier if we'd drawn/lost but played well, as it would be far more encouraging in terms of Pochettino's future at the club. Games can be won or lost due to individual abilities, but overall performances are a reflection of the manager. What signs were there today that Pochettino is improving this team? It was a lucky win. I'll credit some of the players for having the ability to keep going, but Pochettino's influence essentially had Swansea ending the game as extremely unlucky not to take all the points.

We won lol. Some of you fucks would be looking the opposition not to get a touch :) How about showing some patience? - whilst we're winning that is.

Despite a very back to the wall second half for me seeing Walker back is a huge bonus and Davies i thought played really well. Dembele and Strombo stiffened up the midfield.

Would love to see Levy make a cheeky 25 mil offer for Bony next month!

He does it every game. He show flashes but his general play is piss poor

After the game on Thursday night, all you did was come out with jokes against Tottenham. But its the same point I was trying to make in the opening pages of this thread, that we've a better mindset on the road these days - yet you get people nitpicking over this shit.

Were we great? No. But we've more about us these days to come away with a win. If you can't welcome that Jesus Christ. And its no coincidence now.

Is it a better mindset? or the fact that at home teams tend to play a more open game. Swans are always a team prepared to attack, but a number of teams that come to WHL looking to pull players behind the ball and defend deep and rely on a few counter attack opportunities are not always so inclined to play the same defensive game at home.

I think we have a number of issues but the biggest is that we seem to lack any real plan or clue playing against those defensive teams and this is a big part of why we can look better away from WHL

A classic illustration of you don't play football on paper or a computer

Football is not chess and often disappoints the purists

Spurs did to Swansea what a number of clubs have done to us in the past. The reason why we never finished 1st of 2nd. Looked good but could not kill off the game. Flattered to deceive. All about goals

Thought it was a decent away performance a lot of hard work even from those who were not supposed to be workers

I ll take winning over anything at this stage

Thought the changes had a big influence of the latter stages of the game

How old is Lemela ? It is too early to give up on him. This is really is first proper season in the premiership since he got injured very early in Spurs career as a result he hardly played last year.

23 stunning appearences.

He will come good, score a goal and get the winning WC goal for the Argies..:woot:

We must play 2 up top vs Burnley. Eriksen could slot into midfield next to Bentaleb
I've got Eriksen in my signature team midfield because I want him to play all the time, but feel we need some pace and drive on the left. Chadli or Townsend on the left for now, but someone like konoplyanka from January. If Eriksen can play as well as Mason in midfield then I think he and Stambouli should be given a chance as the midfield pairing.

I said the above before the match and it just shows what an entirely predictable squad we have. We NEED more players who can strike the ball with both feet from distance. Eriksen is the only one in the ENTIRE squad that can test the keep consistently from outside of 15 yards. Every single attacking player we bring in must have the ability to shoot the ball with accuracy and pace.

Why are you quoting your own post like you've made a Yoda-like prediction?

The main part of your argument was based on the incorrect assumption that Lennon would play ("I'm assuming everyone will get their wish for Lennon").

Your argument was that this incorrect assumption would lead to a lack of end product - we scored two goals ("you cannot gloss over how he [Lennon] just isn't any sort of goal threat, so if you play the same team as Everton, you can't really be all that surprised if that team doesn't score over 90").

Your caveat was that Eriksen might score but no-one else - Kane scored (you can't really be all that surprised if that team doesn't score over 90 minutes barring an Eriksen strike").

We didn't play the same team as against Everton, Lennon didn't play, we had end product (2 goals), Eriksen wasn't the only goal-scorer.

If we regularly place confidence in this back 4 (Walker - Fazio - Verts - Davies) it will begin to work understanding and bring confidence in the near future. I wouldn't change that at the moment, not until January if and when we have a chance to buy better defenders!
I would drop Soldado (I really love the guy but IMO at the moment he brings nothing to the table). I'd play Kane up front and have a midfield 5 with either Eriksen or DEMBELE or Chadli behind the striker.
The left and right wing/midfield is where we need to make sure we have the right players!
Townsend is too selfish. Lennon has been doing ok lately. I'd stick Chadli on the left of we give Eriksen behind the striker and Lennon on the right and Bentaleb and DEMBELE/Stambouli.
Anyhow. Happy with 3 points.
At this moment, is rather we play poor and get three points than play fancy football and no points! COYS

I don't want to give up on lamela I really don't. But he needs to do so much more. We aren't good enough to carry passengers and I'm afraid on performances like his last 3 he is a passenger. I hope we give him time but by god he is nowhere near it at the minute
