According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Moreno has ditched his previous representative to sign up with Raiola, who counts Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli among his clients and has links with a number of top Premier League and European clubs.
The Gunners are favourites to land Moreno, and Sport claim Arsene Wenger has had scouts at some of Espanyol’s recent games, including the 2-0 and 1-0 victories over Valencia and Celta Vigo in which the 26-year-old helped keep clean sheets.
The Gunners are reportedly ready to offer £6million for Moreno, who has recently returned to full fitness after breaking his leg during Mexico’s World Cup campaign, and Raiola is set to meet Espanyol officials to discuss his future this week.
Spurs’ interest appears to have cooled, but Moreno is well known to Pochettino having worked with the Argentinian during his time in charge at the Spanish club.
Espanyol would be willing to listen to “interesting” offers for Moreno, but the Gunners could face competition from several Bundesliga clubs for his signature.
