I agree it seems difficult for some to grasp because most teams that play with two CM's have one more defensive and one more attack minded player. The best example I can think of was Petit and Vieria. Both Tackled, both attacked but not at the same time. Takes discipline and understanding but it can work very well if the players have enough all round quality.
Totally agree, and I think its actually a lot more desirable to have two good all rounders in those positions. We're not a Chelsea who can have one of the best DM's in the world beside one of the best creative midfielders (playing deeper when deployed there) in Matic and Fabregas.
Two players who have enough intelligence and work ethic off the ball and can get there head up and a pick pass to. If they develop a good understanding between them, it could work beautifully.
Bentaleb and Schneiderlin has that feel to me about it.
