So glad novak won, once again he beat the crowd
Each to their own but I usually always shout for the underdog (we are Spurs fans, after all) so the two weeks couldn't have ended worse for me.

Dominance is bad for sport.

I agree with the underdog tag HOWEVER, The underdog was Djokovic in terms of support, I hate how the crowd kept putting Novak off and cheering for everything Roger did.

Poor display in the end from Federer, maybe predictable after the heights he reached vs Murray, a big letdown spot. Only the 08 French Open was worse than that.

The worst part was that it looked like he just felt he had better things to do. Never for a moment looked that bothered about the match.

I think there is something wrong with your television.

There's a massive difference between playing poorly and being allowed to play your best. Personally I'd put this final into the latter category. Both players served immensely (main thing I dislike about grass is the dominance of the serve)

Fed played about as well as he was allowed but Novak was hitting the lines and making life v difficult for Fed. It's hard to hit clean winners when the ball is bouncing at your toes the whole time.

Djokovic just showed why he's the current world number one. He doesn't play the most exciting or glamorous tennis but my god he's effective.

Have to laugh at the Lewis Hamilton issue
Just had to google this but good on them, everybody else knows the traditions... who does he think he is that could make him any different or better than the likes of David Beckham, Bradley Cooper, Rod Laver, Benedict Cumberbatch, etc...

I'm glad they didn't let him on just because he drives a car that other people make faster than other teams cars

Who will be the next first time winner of a men's Grand Slam tournament?

Good question, I'd have to say Nishikori, really like him as a player and when he plays at the absolute top of his game I think he can beat anyone and he's been in a final at least. There's no one else really, there's a few young players that have the potential but still have to go up a few levels like Raonic and Dimitrov.

I just can't see anyone else. Ferrer won't beat Djokovic, Federer or Murray at a grand slam and the same can probably be said for Berdych. Berdych certainly has the tools to be performing better than he has been at grand slams IMO.

I agree but I'm not sure I like the stictness of Wimbledon's codes. Well I do and I don't. I like how it's different, exclusive, luxurious, high class and all that and I guess it's a seperate situation but the player codes are ridiculous. Even Federer said so and I think it was Wozniacki who said so recently. I mean Bouchard recieved a code violation for this ffs:

It's a tricky one, I wasn't expecting Cilic to make the break through at the US Open last year but there isn't anyone on the cusp of big things who I'd fancy to make that step up.

The next generation from a few years back have all flattered to deceive. Dimitrov has had a poor year after early signs of promise, Raonic has fallen away with injury and Kyrios doesn't have the mental strength to make it that far. That leaves Nishikori but I can't see him stepping up either...

Would love to see one of the French trio Tsonga, Monfils or Gasquet do it but they're all too fragile when the pressure is on.

But... Tsonga is the only one to win a masters level event outside the usual contenders in the last five or something years and his game is suited to the US Open if he can get a decent draw and attack like he can.

I think there's a chance that Dimitrov will kick on, having paused for a while, but it depends on how much he wants it and how hard he's prepared to work.

For me, Kyrgios is too young to make a final judgement, but McEnroe reckons he's the real deal so if he matures he could be the one. But how soon I don't know.

Raonic looks just too slow and fragile to me. Another huge server who hasn't quite got the rest to back it up. (That sounds really unfair cos he's a good player and no Ivo, but ...)

Gasquet, no. Serve and forehand not big enough. Monfils, no. Too flaky. Tsonga? Possible if he has a whole tournament at the top of his game, but that's a big ask.

Berdych? If there's a slam where the big boys go out with upsets or injury, then yes. He could beat one of them but more than that? Dunno.

Nishikori is in the same boat but needs to stay fit.

Otherwise, Djokovic is going to be the favourite for every tournament for the next 2 years at least. Federer hasn't gone away, but needs someone to clear the way for him so he doesn't meet Djookovic in the final. Murray has at least one more in him. Wawrinka can do it, but needs to keep believing. And Rafa must surely come back if he gets a new coach and his confidence back.

I can see Djokovic picking up 6 of the next 8 slams.

Davis Cup just got interesting
Most players would have folded and gone two sets down. Great desire and fight by Murray.

Simon is playing well at the mo but his head does tend to drop when the going gets tough. Wouldn't be surprised if Murray wraps up the final two sets 6-4, 6-2

Australia, Argentina and Belgium left, if Murray wins this and the tie for GB as a result they have no excuse for not winning the whole bloody thing
