West Brom bringing in a striker is the most concrete evidence that SB is coming our way. Couple that with the oceans of ITK, I reckon this thing's as good as done. Would be amazed if he's not announced within the next week.

Never been privvy to any info and never really likely to be however as this deal is involving a midlands club I may have some tenuous ITK

My mate just told me that his millionaire friend who is renting out a £5,000 a month 5 bedroom barn conversion has agreed to let it to Jozy Altidore as he's about to sign for West Brom. Take that how you will but would hopefully be linked to us signing Berahino

Just thought I'd pass on

That's ironic considering Altidore couldn't hit a barn door to save his life.

Obviously take it with a grain of salt and all that. But while I do doubt that, it is interesting to note that Toronto FC had 5 strikers, and just signed a 6th, Herculez Gomez. If he signed on a DP deal as well, then maybe this might have some truth to it. 6 strikers is excessive and 4 DP contracts are not allowed, as per MLS' made up rules

However, Pulis has to be aware of the absolute stellar failures of seasons he's had in English football and is probably not one to give a 3rd chance.

Its all relative

True... in a world where Andy Caroll costs half a Suarez... it's all about the need of the buyer against the willingness of the seller.

Beraniho knows the league, scores consistently for a team who struggle to score in general, so considering the market, and the fact we want to buy and WB are at least a little reluctant to sell, certainly not desperate, 20 mil sounds just about right. Anything less than 15 would be daylight robbery in truth.

I can't see this happening. I expect Pullis is more than aware of the outstanding job Altidore did the opposite of at Sunderland.

I'm not saying one way or the other but just what i heard. Stop ITK bashing! ;)

To be fair he bounced back well in MLS after he left there and wasn't he top scorer? Fits the profile of a Pulis signing too. We'll see

Jasper on SO (in response to a question about the signings he expected us to make last week):

"Yes I said minimum 2, 3 max. That is the dangers of calling certain things. That was said with total conviction that was coming from certain quarters within. The players in question we know by now. Third is possible new name is what I heard. cannot go on much longer, and believe it is the selling clubs we are waiting on as all agreements Te in place."

Last thing I'll post on this subject as its the wrong thread. The leading scorer right now is probably Kamara, Giovinco or Villa. Last season was BWP, Keane or Dwyer i think. Altidore has scored some goals there though.

It was a joke and I apologise if it any way offended. I have several good friends who happen to be homosexual and their sexuality does not bother me one bit. I am however offended that you referred to me as homophobic however without knowing me I can see why my poor joke led you to that assumption. I am really hoping we sign him and may have his name on a shirt when we play the blue scum just to really f### them off when he leads us to victory

He deleted his post anyway :D

Giovinco for now. Altidore has only played 15 league games, as he tweaked his hammie back before the Gold Cup.

Any link with him and West Brom (or anywhere else) is tenuous, at best...and I say that with no disrespect in regards to the info recently posted. He's only just come to Toronto, where he's paid handsomely and is playing well when not injured, and with Giovinco and Bradley in that team they have a chance to make a mark.

Not trying to bash, but I'd be right shocked. He's not played poorly since he's been back. Something like 7 goals, but he's been barely in contention to play. Constantly injured, suspended, or with the nats. He didn't play in their match on Wednesday, but he was injured (edit: or actually suspended now that I think about it) and in the stadium.

Herc was definitely not on a DP deal. Garber pulled some strings and made it happen so he didn't sign with NASL instead, but not on that big of money. Once you look past Giovinco and the often injured Altidore, the rest of Toronto's attack is garbage.

Sadly Giovinco took the top spot after he put my OC Lions to the sword on Wednesday. 7 goals I think for Jozy.

Food for thought...

Harry Kane had 65 appearances during his various loans and scored 16 goals, then 4 in 19 appearances
in the season when Tim
gave him a proper shout before the phenomenal breakthrough last season...along with 8 in 14 for the Under-21's.

Berahino? 12 goals in 33 games on his loans, 9 goals in 35 first team appearances (in varying positions) in 2013/2014, then 20 goals in 45 games last season...at West Brom...when you factor in the the 10 goals in 11 games at Under-21 and the strike-rate at youth international level (more consistently in the goals than Harry was I think) is £20m that hard to imagine for a young exciting English player in a league that is sucking global money at an exponential rate?

He has all the tools and previous form to have a fair chance of ending up a 20-30 goal a season man for the rest of his career in my opinion. At £20m that's a fucking smart investment, no?

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Not too worried about lack of movement at the moment, seems to be at least a shared vision for the players we need which makes a change

He only went back to the MLS in Jan 2015 and was sent off the other day for kicking someone... great example of how a captain shouldn't act lol

He's probably England's 6th or 7th choice striker, no other club in the top 8 of the Premier or any other major league appears interested (this cannot be confirmed I accept) which speaks far louder than those stats you've churned out
