I wonder if this is a warning bell. It seems that tangible bids always come in near the very end of a transfer saga. Seems like there are discussions, links, leaks, bluffs and so on for weeks, and then when an official bid arrives the deal is often done in...48 hours ;). If we're getting agent ITK, then all the clubs probably know that Berahino is up for sell.

Saying that an official bid has been rejected is probably a clear sign that the deal is materializing and that any fence sitters should be aware that time is running short.

I'm very much enjoying the positive ITK around Ian Illaramendi & Berahino, these two would top off the squad very nicely. A couple our, as per the goat and, leaving aside quibbles about the timing, it will have been a very coherent and productive summer.

Anyway happy about the confidence regarding berahino. Hopefully things can be worked out. But experience tells me we wont go too high. Just hope it's not another moutinho etc...

Perhaps it's a sign of how warped my sense of judgement has become thanks to this thread but I'm also going with the ITKs over the West Brom chairman.

From the moment I read the quotes it sounded like a final desperate attempt to entice any other bidders out of the woodwork. If none come forward I think we'll be fine.

Hope you're right. Think it will take a while either way. Could see us being linked with another striker over the next few days. Spread by levy to make the west brom chairman sweat.

It's kind of odd...I had the same feeling when I saw that quote from WBA followed by the ITK posts. It was an "ah this thing is getting close" thing going on in my head.
