Not coming here, too many big guns after him so will be silly money

Don't know if this is ITK, but agree. In my Spurs bubble I was looking at our links to him. I searched his name in twitter and we're barely mentioned. Linked to Utd, Barca, Bayern all sort. We won't stand a chance, unless he opted to come to us as a stepping stone knowing he'd more likely get chances only competing with one striker

New link to Embolo from Sky Sports who claim we have been put off Berahino and are now looking at other options.

Like others I think he has too much hype quietly surrounding him in Europe. Has a similar reputation to what Martial had at Monaco before United paid silly money. Something similar from a mega-rich club looks likely with Embolo as well. Would love it if we got him though.

As much as I'd love the kid here; to pay anything like what is currently circulating in the media is ridiculous.

I'd prefer to look around at the 'ghost' players who go under the radar; ones we can nurture.

The guy who scored how many last minute winners last season?

Mentality of thinking about development over the dollar.
Also the guy who has a propensity to score in very tough physically grinding games.

Sheffield United for example.

How an earth is anyone comparing Embolo to Eriksen?

They are absolutely nothing alike. Kane is the closest comparison. Embolo is Robust, technically good, scores, makes goals and works hard without the ball and is prepared to press and tackle

I made reference to Eriksen as he too had offers from 'the big boys' and could have just lined his pockets. It's somehow turned into an Eriksen slating when clearly that was not the point.

Ah..OK, I'm with you. Fair point.

Not many players are savvy enough to take the Eriksen approach and realise that going to the uber club is just as likely to kill or stall their career as make it.

Or the guy who cost us points when he was scared to put in a simple tackle. ?? You can't have it both ways.
He's done one far more than the other.

In fact I can't think of a time it was him personally who cost us a game.

For these reasons I'd love us to get Embolo. If he has any sense, or has decent advisers, he'd consider any offer from us. Especially given Kane's trajectory, which must be fairly well known amongst the footballing communities across Europe. If he came to us, he could be world class by his early 20s.

Kane's trajectory may be why he'd be advised not to come to us.

As he likely wants to be the go to striker and he'd have to fight another young and up and comer here, he might prefer to go somewhere where the competition is different.

Good point- but he can play in the WF role too?

Not picking on the guy, but there were 2/3 games last season that he cost us points by not even attempting to put a foot in in our half. He very rarely gets up for games recently. In fact he's been invisible. JJ suggest when we were in talks with Ajax that he wanted barca etc but even Spurs were concerned because he was inconsistent. And he is so inconsistent. Unless he scores a few free kicks he is almost useless just recently. Hopefully Pritchard can keep fit and put a little pressure on him.
