Over on the other board I frequent (yeah, I know...) I started the following thread, and I thought I'd post the same thing here and see what happens...

"I've thought long and hard about this and I know I'm going to upset a few by saying how I feel, but if Tottenham don't win the Premiership this season, then the club I'd like to see win it is... Liverpool.

City have won it recently, Chelsea have won it recently, United have won it recently, and there's now way I could ever hope for a scum victory....So if we don't win it, I would choose Liverpool, who are playing fantastic football and who've never won it.

There, I've said it.

So if not us, then who would the rest of you like to see win it"?

Was thinking Bournemouth, but Wilshere's there, so I'll say Hull.

City, I don't fee anything for them, no malice no jealousy, nothing. And in my mind they should be winning it anyway so when they do win I couldn't really care less.

Christ almighty...Liverpool ? There's literally nothing positive for them winning, but i can think of tonnes of reasons why they shouldnt.

I'd like Brighton to win.

Don't think you'll get much sympathy with that viewpoint on here!

I'm not as rabidly anti Liverpool as many on here, but I do find the media love in and obsession with them nauseating and them winning the league will also just push us further down the pecking order.

If it has to someone else, then it's City for me. I know they are a plastic club now, successful on the back of oil money, but they have somehow managed to do it in a much classier way than Chelsea and most of their fans suffered years of misery with Utd being so successful and themselves being a yo-yo club. And they also have two of my favourite players to watch in Silva and Aguero.

All in all I don't mind them too much, even if Guardiola is a bit of a dick. They are certainly better than the alternatives.

It's an interesting question and will shows a lot of different mindsets how people respond. (I'm guessing you have the attacking football should win out perspective)

Personally I think Liverpool winning would be the worst thing from a Spurs perspective. I see them as a direct rival for making the top four. They have the fan base and media focus along with high sponsorship deals but what they don't have is recent success that could make players want to go to them. If they were to achieve that success then I could see them becoming a new power in the English game as they could potentially attract a better standard of player than they currently can (and they could afford the wages as they have high sponsorship deals and turnover).

Personally I'd want City to win as it would have little to no impact on Spurs. They have a bottomless pit of money and can already attract top players so this wouldn't adversly affect us. They are the epitome of everything that's wrong with the modern game but them winning would have no impact on Spurs as it's expected.

Compare that to other contenders
  • Arsenal (another season without the title)
  • Utd (even Jose can't get them the title)
  • Chelsea (souless club with success the only reason for players being there)
  • Other clubs - Yet another rival to us making it into the English elite

I'm with you actually! I've got a soft spot for the city as I lived there for a few years and, generally speaking, quite like them as a bunch. I've never really understood the feeling on here that all Liverpool fans are self-entitled arseholes. I suspect it comes from reading their comments on forums more than anything, but I don't read other team's forums, or BBC comments section, 'cos I don't care about them. And frankly speaking, I can easily see how other teams would level similar stuff at us if they were to spend two minutes in a match thread on here.

So, yeah, Liverpool. Out of those who could this year, they're my choice too.

It;s basically an order of who I'd least hate to see win it than who I'd like to see

1.City - basically because the only Man City fans I know were fans even in the 3rd tier and I don't have anything much against City as they're basically us with a lotto win getting them out of the shadow of their annoying red neighbor
2. Liverpool
3. Utd
4. Chelsea
5. Arsenal

I suppose now we are and have been in and around the mix it's much harder to pull for one of the teams because they become a rival to your own ambition, where as in my younger years it was very easy to support Keegan's Newcastle, or Big Ron's Villa over United (and of course Shearer and Blackburn) because as a Spurs fan we were so far removed from the title race it was a separate entity to the title race and couldn't even dream of being involved

I think it must be a good thing that now days I don't want to see anyone win it and have think of it in terms of who I'd least hate to win it

NOBODY. I still detest Leicester from last season.

Liverpool would be near the bottom for me in terms of teams winning - supporters are insufferable already, and they are a mid-table squad - can't imagine if they win.

I'll go with Swansea - but I would still hate if they won.

Hell no

Their fans would be beyond unbearable-another vote for city for me, only one even remotely tolerable

What's this defeatist talk doing on the forum of the only undefeated side in the Premier League?

Agree with that.

Also City will be attracting the best players whatever happens so winning the league wouldn't give them that much of an advantage.

christ...I hate Liverpool, the club, their fans, their sense of entitlement, the pundits, I could go on.
I have no ill feeling towards city, their fans have really been through shit over the years, then they won the lottery.
I find Pep quite a likeable guy, and none of their players are dislikeable IMO, so I'd much rather them if it's not us.

Bournemouth with Jack Wilshere getting injured for the season now and returning to Arse so he doesn't get a medal. Eddie Howe is a class act and having two spurs boys in the back four helps!
