It's actually not that bad an idea - I'd be worried about Hazard facing him - so realistically I can only see Verts playing there - perhaps even Dier.

I'd actually stick them in for this game thinking about it and have Vertonghen back in the middle with Dier.

connor ogilvie, spent last season on loan at stevenage until he got injured. he's not too dissimilar to ben davies really. i know some have mentioned kwp and whilst i'd be excited to see him in the first team i want him given the best chance possible of succeeding - and throwing him in away to chelsea in a struggling team out of his natural position isn't it.

On reflection, a 5311 with a view to containing and countering might be the one. And while Dembele is no left back, he is our one remaining left footer who can tackle, carry the ball and track a runner.

Lloris picks himself. Chelsea are dangerous down the flanks, so I've gone for as much solidity there as possible, Vertonghen on the left and Walker on the right, with Walker-Peters just ahead to provide support and cover when Walker goes forwards. Dier and Wimmer is far from ideal but it'll have to do, with no left backs and no Alderweireld.Walker --- Dier --- Wimmer --- Vertonghen

Wanyama is in decent form so he chooses himself, and Winks is our only midfielder who can actually pass forwards so he gets the nod once again.
Son had a bad game Tuesday but he is dangerous down the left side, and with Vertonghen behind him he'll have freedom to attack. WalkerPeters is there because he can defend, and isn't called Sissoko. Alli might be in poor form but so are our other options.
Kane up front because he's Harry fucking Kane.

to be honest Wanyama has been terrific and at the moment player of the season, but
the shape of the team that played so welll last season saw Dier drop deep and protect our right side with Toby, Dembele when he dropped back protect the left side with Verts or Wimmer, at the moment Wanyama just protects the whole of the midfield between our box and the halfway line, he has so much energy, and defensively its working.
