What do you know what he offers? We can not go every two weeks from Llorente is shit to he is a great back up and back again. We maybe can discuss having Troy on the bench is an option but honestly....lets let the lad miss an open goal that would put us in the Champions League final. His career could be over in one scene.

But on the other side, having maybe no attacking players on the bench would not help our chances either.

I can see Poch putting Rose on LW and Davies or even Verts as a LB to have Lucas on the bench to have an option to change things. Its surely not as good as it should be.

So what I think would Poch do and is reasonable if Verts and Sissoko are ready:

----------------------------Lloris--------------------------
---Trippier-----Toby----------Verts----------Davies-
---------------------------Wanyama----------------------
---------------Sissoko-------------------Eriksen---------
------------Dele-----------Llorente--------Rose--------

Rose/Eriksen and Dele/Sissoko changing positions with each other from time to time. Lucas as a super sub (but that could also be Llorente and we put Dele up front and Lucas as RW).

Subs: Gazza, Sanchez, Foyth, KWP, Dier, Lucas, Skipp

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to play Dele as a false 9. Lucas has to play. Especially with no Son. Having Lucas and Rose run at their full backs could be a way to get at their weaker links.

I just hope Pochettinho releases Dele Alli. He has been asked to do many task this season not fully fit. Personally on our forward play we need to use Vertonghen in full attacking mode get Dele running in on goal, Moura using his pace and Eriksen popping, every member of the team giving there all.

Genuinely think Foyth in CM would confuse the fuck out of them. We could change formation several times in the match

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Sissoko Foyth Eriksen
Lucus Dele
Llorente

Subs: Gazzaniga KWP Sanchez Davies Wanyama Dier Roles

But zero attacking players on the bench

Really sad that we're going into our first CL semi in god knows how many years with so many key injuries.

You can only imagine the headlines if Salah was injured.

Our squad is just so ravaged by injuries right now. Add in to that Son's suspension and what has to be a bunch of tired legs, I'm pretty confident!

I'll be happy as long as we are going into the second leg with a genuine chance of getting through and have players back fit. Do not wish to concede more than one goal and would settle for a 0-0 now....but there's no way there won't be goals tonight....not in either side's DNA

Poch has to earn his salary with this team selection.

If Llorente starts would it be better to play 3 at the back so the wingbacks are higher up the pitch putting in crosses?

Does he start with Dele and moura up top? Llorente has been known to make an impact off the bench

Dier or Wanyama? Wanyama for me.

Some tough decisions. There are so many permutations I actually have no idea what Poch will pick (or what I would pick)

Wonder if our bench will be the weakest ever in a CL semis game, crazy to think we could be stuck with 0 attacking players on the bench, can we recall Kaziah Sterling lol?

This, maybe Dier for Sissoko. I'd want to keep llorente on the bench and save him if we need to change things up, he's also been more affective coming on late, probably because defenders are tired and at his speed..

Not sure I see Foyth in DCM yet .. he loses the ball enough at CB when everything is in front of him ... in CM he'll have to be a lot more decisive with the ball. Also, not sure a CL SF is the time to experiment like that. Ajax have an incredible first press so we mustn't mess about at the back with the ball.

Really think we need to play direct English football into Llorente and Alli targeting Blind.

Read an article on Blind not being great in the air but the Eredivision suiting him because they all play on the floor so shows this is something the team as well as blind won't be used to, as much as de ligt is good

The one thing that Dier brings that Sissoko and, to a lesser extent, Wanyama don't is the ability to seamlessly drop into the back 3, freeing up the two full backs. That ability to change from one formation to the other could be crucial tonight. My concern is that Dier is just returning from injury and that he might not fully match fit yet.

Think we have to change the definition of 'fit' for this one with our midfield options seemingly Sissoko, Dier and Wanyama. Wouldn't be surprised if Poch pulled some sort of rabbit out of the hat like starting Skipp. No idea how we cope with this one.
