A nerve-wracking game with zero decent defending and lots of goals. A small part of me hopes the rest of our FA Cup run is away because that match was a fitting farewell for the Lane, though the majority of me wants Lincoln at home in the next round.

Some of our fans are a joke. Wanking Poch off for giving youngsters a chance. But when they have poor games like today, he's clueless and it's some kind of outrage.

Terrible pero
A great FA Cup tie.
A very rude awakening for MoPo and his cup "strategy".

I have two wishes:
1) Never to experience that again.
2) That we actually find a way of wanting to WIN the damn trophy.

To continue to treat the FA Cup with such disrespect is hard to take from a true Spurs supporter brought up with the hope and the glory of that trophy. It's winnable, it's Wembley and it's a freaking trophy that our starting X1 could win and SHOULD WNAT TO WIN.

Too many games? Protect the players for Sunderland away? Jeezuz H Christ - that thinking needs revising.

Absolutely.

The strategy we have applied is absolute madness. It didn't work last time around and it won't again.

If you want to play high intensity football in the PL, you can't flog those players in all the cups and expect them to have the gas to last the whole season. It can't be done. We need a bigger squad with more quality to fight on all fronts.

Ask any pro player if he would prefer to play 3 times a week or play every 7 days with 5 days of intense training and I know the answer. You can rest three or four players, but not make nine changes. My point is that we as a club need to win a trophy and not just be satisfied with a top 4 place.

I know people are going to say this is knee-jerk but the defending wasn't bad today, it was atrocious.

With Jan already out if Toby picks up another injury I really won't feel too confident. It might not be the worst idea to look for a centre back this month, especially if we are still keen to play 3 at the back.

I actually think Fonte would have been a decent option, yes he's old but he is very familiar with Poch and I think he'd have done a good job for us.

Waaay to late for us to be looking at bringing in a cb now. We will have to make do with what we have.

We've got plenty of quality in the squad, it's just that it's virtually impossible to rotate and have a team full of players who haven't had the benefit of a run of games to find their feet play with cohesion.

Some people just can't seem to accept the reality that we have to give priority to other competitions, which necessitates that there be rotation. Everyone would be apoplectic had it been Walker rather than Trippier who picked up that injury. Poch can't win with this crowd.

I also have the memories of 67/81/82 and 91 plus many memorable cup battles and semis that we failed in.

The players who played for us and won nothing in the wilderness years ... because of a policy of not bothering to try and win cups is very sad.

And for those of you suggesting a loss would have been our worst FA Cup defeat ever I give you Port Vale. This was in the days before resting players and squad rotation was the order of the day, when the FA Cup mattered.

The trip home from that one wasn't much fun either :D

I thought they were outstanding for a Tier 4 side. That gulf has always been huge, and it wasn't that apparent today. Quite incredibly, they beat us with shots-on-target 4-5.

But to be honest, I didn't think we were going out at any point before their 3rd goal in the 83rd minute.

the entire commentary in my stream was saying how deservedly Wycombe was in getting their goals and they should be getting away with something.. but ffs, while we brought some faults to ourselves, I really didn't see how undeserving we are in making our own luck through an improved 2nd half!

It would never be any different when a league 2 team comes to a top 4 team and goes 2-0 up, gets pegged back and still goes and gets a 3rd and looking to win. They will only look at the lower league team as they are the ones overachieving, despite the way the game has actually been played. Normally I'd be annoyed with such commentary but can't say I blame them in such a scenario.
