In. They allow five teams per nation now.

However, if we finish 4th, United win EL and finish below us, AND Leicester win CL, we're fucked again.

Question is, do we really want to be in the champions league when we can't even best Gent?

Let's face it, Kane was poor today, and he too has been for some time prior to his hat-trick last week..

Always wanted to him to do well but when he's not, he deserves some sticks, especially other similarly poor players like Davies and Dier tonight would have thought to be the ones scoring own an own goal each judging from the flak they gotten here ffs..
Well said mate

the one positive I suppose, we may not burn out this season as we only have league and 3 x fa cup games to concentrate on where as utd, city still have European commitments.... every cloud

We were never gonna win it

It's all about the money mate. The manager and chairmen doesn't give a fuck if we get embarrassed every game as long as the benjamins keep rolling in.

My biggest fear now, outside of this game, is what will this do to the confidence of the players and the manager? We still have a lot of games to go, some very tricky fixtures coming up and we are in a dangerous position in the league and in real danger of missing out on the top four as it stands.

We have now lost the chance of another trophy and realistically we only have one real chance of winning another, that's the FA cup because in my opinion the league title has gone and I don't think we are ready to win it even if it was on.

It's worrying, we are in a very precarious situation right now, it's up to the players now, to react or give up, we have to fight now until the end of the season, despite the result tonight, we can't afford to let our heads drop, I know the game on sunday will be tough, these players were blowing out of their arses at the end tonight but they have to be ready, Stoke isn't going to be easy, it won't be any easier than gent, especially considering they will be smelling blood right now considering our situation.

Watching Eriksen's post match interview spoke volumes, he was asked "What positives can you take from this?" his answer "Not much."

Well, we need to find some positives because we have a game on sunday and every game now is a must win because our confidence is shot to pieces, even Kane looks like a shadow of himself at the moment.

The game is about glory, we need some glory and we need some fast, before it's too late.

I am also very concerned about Wembley next season and if we even manage to get to the FA semi's we seem to be making it a bit of a bogey ground.

I can't believe that some of our own fans can have watched that game and believe we deserved anything other than a win and to go through.

65% possession and 25 shots on goal to their 5. Those are the stats, and then you have what you saw. We could easily have scored 5 on another day.

I'm as pessimistic as anyone when we play badly but today wasn't one of those days.

I don't really classify a keeper doing his job as lucky, but whether you do or not that doesn't nullify the fact we totally dominated a well organised team and that two key decisions went the wrong way. Yes it was a red but play should have been stopped.

My point is that we did not force him to make saves, we didnt strike the woodwork, no goals chalked for offside.

Possession is meaningless if you dont do anything with it. We could have 100% possession but if you dont put the ball in the net it doesn't matter.

We played better with 10 men regardless but a team who are 8th in the belgian league should not be scoring 3 times against us over 180 mins. That is not luck.

Can't fault the display. However annoying it is to go out. Thought the ref was horrendous. Again. They spent the whole game diving around. And he lapped up everyone of them. Their second goal was straight from a foul on winks. Their first goal was NOT a corner. If I want the easiest job in the world. I am gonna train to be one of those fucking dicks at either end of the pitch. My god. Their is absolutely no point in them. Put them either side of the pitch so you can have 4 linesmen. But what is the actual point of them??? Anyway. We did and we didn't want to be in this game and frankly Alli cost us the tie. Props to the players who stayed on and gave it their all. Can't wait to o rub those Gooner mugs noses in it next week.

Unfortunately decent enough back to challenge and provide competition for Kane sadly did not arrive in the summer nor in January, which as left us where we are now.

I hope the amount of energy we expended on that doesn't cost us on Sunday, especially considering it was for fuck all in the end..
Sunday , thats when the real jokes begin, we need to win, can't afford a draw or a lost.
Utd are on the charge.

Honestly? I think that was pathetic. Abject.

It's not about the performance, it's about the result, and the result is that we've just gone out of yet another cup to a team we should've beaten, in this case to a mid-table Belgian team who saw us as their biggest ever game, and who struggled their way to a 1-1 draw with Standard Liege on the weekend. We couldn't even win one match over two legs.

Our cup performances and results are utterly embarrassing and pathetic, and I pretty much hate watching us in them now.

I agree with you - performance was good and we were unlucky but seriously stats don't win us matches and how many times are we going to have great stats but no results from it, fed up of hearing Poch using this excuse, let alone us fans!
