I agree with the bold bit but HOW can he be so leggy. He doesn't fucking play and he came on in the 85th minute. He just runs as if a bungee rope is attached to him

That's obviously the way he is. Does make you wonder what the fuck our scouting department are doing sometimes.

I feel like Janssen could have offered as much as Son did today. Son runs hot and cold - he's either unstoppable or a spectator.

When your main praise for a striker is for winning free kicks, maybe he's not the right one
But he was sent on with instructions to help kill the game. He won lots of cheap free kicks and kept the ball at the right end so Southampton couldn't build up a head of steam. Exactly what Poch would have asked him to do.

You may not rate him, but don't let it prejudice what was a tactically solid cameo.

Yeah, Alan Shearer was quite good at this too. Not saying he's in the same league as Shearer before anyone gets all indignant. In fact Jansenn has been prettt crap so far.

However, holdinh the ball up to get your team up the pitch is a key element of a number 9's job.

Fine, but every time he comes on, he fouls, wins free kicks, and tumbles over

To be fair, he had little opportunity to do anything more today.

Was the only the player to register a shot on target in the second half, despite being on for 5 minutes.

Listen everybody, my thoughts are well expressed on VJ. It does not mean I am going to let it blind and prejudice my views everytime he comes on, or starts a game. There is nobody wishing him to ram our opinions up our throats by his displays more than me, and everytime he comes in that is what I hope for. Today he won us free kicks, held the ball up, and pulled a good save out of the keeper in his cameo appearance. He played to instructions, and done well.

Let us cut him some slack and support him, regardless of your views. There are some posters who refuse to do that because they have made their mind up. Is that being objective? I doubt it.

I thought he looked more confident today than he has for a while. & he certainly helped us keep the ball up pitch which was exactly what we needed.

Jannsen needs 4 or 5 full games with our strongest team before he can be fully judged IMO. Coming on as a sub, or having rare starts in weakened teams, is no way to get any rhythm or form. But, that said, he looks too slow and too one footed. Fingers crossed he gets his chance and takes it.

Fuck sake he came on and did a very capable job of helping us see out the win today. It seems totally unnecessary to have such harsh micro analysis on a 10 minute cameo.

Should have squared one to Alli for a tap in. Apart from that, he was hustle and bustle. Could have done with him leading the line second half.

Poor old Vinny. I wish Poch would give him 10mins every game so we can watch the human wrecking ball for even longer

Who knows we might even get a penalty in that time

That one shot on goal he had today, and how it came about, told me all I need to know: the guy's still got a chance of making it.

He had our only decent chance on goal in the 2nd half, in a 10 minute cameo. Won 3? free kicks and helped see out the game.
Well done I say!
