I would like to see Anthony Georgiou get some games with the 1st team this season, he looked very impressive in pre-season.

No chance imo if he gets a chance we will be pretty desperate. He might have done ok in a few friendlies but his all round game is a bit short - very one footed - not particuarly quick - no real passing range - doesn't appear to have a great deal of awareness and to often runs up blind alleys - on the plus side he is a decent finisher and being left footed can be a bonus but his not a first team prospect unless he has made great strides last season and I don't see that

Think you're being a bit too harsh on the kid, he's definitely not ready for league or champ league games, but i think he can gain some good experience playing in EFL Cup & early F.A cup games, even if he is a non starter.

I believe these numbers will also be used for the Checkatrade Trophy, hence the abundance of youth players with scant chance of a first-team appearance.

Interesting to know.

It is very unusual for us to give out so many at beginning of season so that probably explains if then!

Despite being against the principle of youth teams playing in lower league senior competitions, I'm looking forward to tonight, and the competition in general. A new type of test for our youngsters. And also some new grounds for me - hoping to get to all 3 group games, all of which will be new grounds.

The academy sides didn't do too well last season, only 1 reached the quarter finals, none managed the semis. So I'm intrigued to see how we get on.

glad i didn't go now, bit of an underwhelming line up. dinzeyi will have a tough time at rb if that's where he's starting, would suit him and the team better if it's three at the back with tracey and bennetts at wing back.

Wtf is going on with Edwards. He really is shrouded in mystery it seems.Every time you expect him to start or make a break through he seems to disappear.Hugely frustrating.

On reflection could be with main squad for weekend but doubt it after 10 mins playing.

If anyone's in the BBC Three Counties Radio area they're supposed to have coverage of Luton Town v Tottenham U21 (EFL Trophy - NOT online) and Torquay United v Boreham Wood from 7.45.

Doesn't say if it's live commentary or studio updates.
