Links to Origi before Llorente show we clearly want a strong, back-to-goal kind of striker, basically what Jansenn was meant to be

For clarity, things that should go in this thread:
  • Any ITK about Spurs
    • This should also be put into the ticker so make a mod aware of it
    • Unless asked not to, also post it in the RO
  • Any transfer news directly relating to Spurs, e.g.
    • If we sign Aurier today it can be talked about in here
    • If media (Sky, etc) say we've bid for someone it can go in here.
    • Any breaking news directly relating to us signing (or selling) someone
What should go in the player threads:
  • Any news about one of our targets that doesn't relate to us directly, e.g.
    • If someone we've been linked to is reported to be signing for someone else.
What shouldn't go anywhere:
  • Any random twitter "news" from a random account
I'm sure I've missed something but use some common sense.

So BBC saying we've had a bit accepted for Llorente is fair game? :):D

So Sky are reporting we've had a £15m bid for Llorente accepted by Swansea and West brom have bid of £25m for Janssen. Wanted Janssen to succeed so much but is it just better to accept bid and move on?

That is such an excellent bit of business.

So, BBC reporting we've had a bid accepted for Llorente.
Look at Spurs transfer MO, typically young(ish) players with low to medium wages and potential for sell on, does Llorente really fit?
Look at our playing style, high intensity, high press, don't play with out and out wingers relentlessly whipping crosses into the box, does Llorente really fit?

Media games maybe, smoke and mirrors for someone else?

Why did Janssen fit into that style?

We're getting a Janssen type striker who can actually be an effective hold up striker and score goals.

I'll counter that with the definition of a 'striker'.

....and I like Vinny

Just got a feeling Vinny may move a little further North West and a certain player who we've been linked with come this way. Swaps don't happen much but a little back scratching may help.

Or... is he the player we're back in for having had interest in the (albeit quite distant) past?
