JJs tweet ominously points towards people not being happy with the outcome. Seems to rule out anything really exciting happening.

Probably why we held the Aurier signing back so we would have someone to announce.
JJ has been around long enough to know that people will be unhappy whatever the outcome. He's just saying that he doesn't care and doesn't want to hear the inevitable moaning that will follow the close of the window.

For example: if we DO sign Barkley, some people will definitely be unhappy that we've wasted time and money on a player who isn't immediately available to help the team. If we DON'T sign Barkley, some people will definitely be unhappy that we failed to sign one of our primary targets.

I guess it's a reference to Llorente. Would be underwhelming for many, although I think it's a good signing.

If we finish today with,
Aurier, Llorente, Sanchez, Foyth for Walker, Janssen, Wimmer, CCV - IMO that would be a good window.
In addition , if we sign Barkley or Gomes loan & a decent wide forward, this would be a brilliant window.

I agree. He's a nightmare to play against and gives us something different. Better than Janssen, too.

Much better back-up for Kane, although not a great option from the bench if things aren't working with Kane playing. We also need a little something different, a pacey fucker who can beat a player.

If we were signing someone top drawer like Martins he wouldn't feel the need to say it! As everyone would be happy.

For sure, if he's our only signing then people will be annoyed.

However JJ, GF and Hercules all say we are getting pace/a WF so I don't think we need to worry. Looks like it's not going to be as exciting as Gelson Martins, but if it gives us some pace, thrust and goals then Poch will be happy.

Morning All, work can do one today, feeling optimistic for 1st time in a while, think we will do 3 today. Would love to get that one exciting attacking player and hopefully with some pace. Thanks SC for your hard work

This site has kept me going the last few days, and sleepless nights following the birth of my first child on Monday!
And this thread is almost as much of an emotional rollercoaster!
Run impeccably as ever by @Archibald&Crooks et al. And some great stuff from @Hercules this window, been great reading your posts.
The overwhelming feeling across all ITK seems to be positive, which makes me fear this place should things not go so well!
So please keep me entertained and busy. And yes, she is already a Spur!

Nope. Some would complain that we paid too much for him and "for that money we could have signed <insert your own favourite player>"

Whatever happens today it will never be a 'brilliant' window. We have played 3 league games and left ourselves short because we never get things done early enough. People confuse the element of 'excitement' with brilliance. But them's the apples while we have DL in the chair.

Aurier is the most important signing to get over the line in my view, hoping the positive reports are cock on. Not fussed on Llorente, 5 years ago would have been the time for him.

Find it hard to believe that either gray or llorente are deals we have been working on for months.surely backup options if our main targets fail.
