I hear what you are saying, but if Winks can't play, then someone else who plays with his style should be on the bench. Oakley-Boothe perhaps?

Eriksen had so much of the ball and Vert + Toby were using it well. Sometimes there are tough days like this with no easy answers.

frankly the amount of daft anti-Poch stuff on the thread has seriously ticked me off. Your comment was probably not the worst but emblematic of the thread.

It's a valid question to ask though.

We didn't use him until the very last throws of the dice.

We could have started Davies today and then given him 4 days off. He was soooo good at Everton and solid in midweek. It would have made all the difference today to have a guy out on the left who knows the position (1st half) and doesn't have to cut back on his right foot (2nd half). As you say, it's not the length of the fucking pitch, it's the small things like the pace of the pass into the stride of the player and that player knowing exactly how the position, left wing back in this case, works.
As well as that, it would have allowed sonny to fully concentrate on what he does best.

Winks has been poor in his limited opportunities since returning from injury and it's clear that Poch doesn't think he's at the level required to play in league matches right now. Whether it's due to not being fully fit or just general rustiness is unclear, but I don't blame Poch for not playing someone who isn't ready just yet.

The real problem is that we are completely threadbare at CM considering Dembele's inability to play more than once a week. We really should have recalled Onomah when it became clear that we had failed to get Barkley or Gomes. Today showed how much we are crying out for a player in the middle of the park who can provide a bit of rhythm and tempo.

Can we blame Kane? I don't think anyone's blamed Kane yet. If he hadn't connected so well with his half volley and header he'd have scored two - and he clearly didn't give Fabianski the eyes from that free kick. Gawd, people don't half love a scapegoat don't they?

Trippier on the left. Absolute guff. Why try to create width with a player that has to cut in. Doesn't make any sense. Everything about that game was wrong today. Really annoyed. Now sitting in a fucking hig traffic jam out of this shit hole.

It works both ways, though.

Against teams who come to sit back, we cant seem to break them down and against teams who attack us, we leak goals.

Look at the Liverpool result today, Burnley did the same thing to them as they did to us. Knowing the likely system that Swansea were going to play you would have thought Poch would have been more adventurous with the system and played both Llorente and Kane from the off.

For some reason, some seem happy with dominating possession and lots of shots... I couldn't give a toss. I want goals.

I don't care if we had 10% possession in a match but win it.

Don't see what the fascination is with " we dominated the game and should have won" well, we didn't cos we didn't score a goal... Swansea who only had 25% possession got the same amount of points as us, as did burnley a couple of weeks back and Chelsea before that.

When will we learn, we have to start scoring more and being ruthless, we don't seem to play as a team when it comes to goals. watching us with free kicks today - Kane took the first, then Dier, then finally Eriksen (who scored a brilliant FK in international duty) so why are Kane/Dier taking the ball off him - play as a team and not for your own personal gain.

Because Barca were insisting on a massive compulsory purchase clause in the loan contract. When the deal fell through we should have taken action, as the squad stands we've left ourselves short for the first half of the season.

Terrible selection but even more terrible is the lack of tempo and movement. Shockingly bad today
