Do you not believe that the players and the team will improve with maturity and experience? Do you not feel that maybe Eric Dier at 23, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies and Harry Kane at 24, Christian Eriksen Erik Lamella and Son Heung Min all at 25 and Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez and Harry Winks all at 21, have all still got their best years ahead of them? If not I'd be interested to know why.
They are not a particularly young team any longer. That argument was highly valid back in 2014. Now it's losing it's validity quickly.

Why though?

Might aswell just go and support city because if that happened to us it wouldn't be spurs winning the league it would be the oligarch/dictators money that has won it

This.

Would love to win big ears just to stick it up to them. The Champions League looks like one trophy oligarchy can't buy...at least immediately. Took Chelsea 10 years to fluke one and they haven't come close since. PSG and City are on their sixth or seventh attempt.

Can't agree there. Arsenal are 4th right now with 33 points from 18 games. That's about what you'd expect 4th to have. Nothing to do with other teams, we've simply not been good enough (not today, that's understandable, but in failing so often against mid-table or relegation sides)
Helps to get soft last minute penalties

Most of that list were fucking mature enough last year and the year before so not buying that bollocks a lot of them are not at it this year for whatever reason.
The club didn't invest as well as it should have relying on those that served us so well previously to do it again which hasn't happened has it.
We were never going to get top four this year and certainly not the league today we were taught a lesson on what being a big boy is all about like we get taught everytime we play these big games away from home standard.

No no no no no fucking no.
Spurs were the rich club in 61, does that not count either then?
I support spurs no one else and I want us to be the best. Unless the money comes from a psycho dictator I’m game

I don't mean just a rich person taking over, joe Lewis is rich- all prem owners are

To compete with the money clubs we'd need to be backed by a country or an oligarchy and I'm not comfortable with that

Well, age does lose its validity as an argument with time. Do you think it's not a particularly young team, because it fits your premise?

You can win if backed by an oligarchy, but not if you're backed by Oliver Hardy.

Look I'm almost 50 with my hand on my heart could I see us winning a EPL title in my lifetime the answer is no unless there is a dramatic turn of events in regards to how we go about our business.
We are the nearly men and have been for a while we get close but never ever can deliver on any front, today we looked a shambles and our mentality was even worse.
Great comments I'm nearly 50 also and been through some dark times with Spurs. I've been on some amazing European Trips and had some great times over the last 10 yrs. As you said under this regime this is as good as it's gonna get I'm sorry some fans won't agree and some will. But since Enic bought our club from Alan Sugar it's gone from 125 mil to 1.25 billion all on Spurs badge. Not investment from Enic but the revenue, European T.v money Sky Money and player sales. That for me says it all they don't care about me , you and all the amazing Spurs fans out there . They don't care about winning trophies as you said the want us to be the nearly men. So until they vacate White Hart Lane and someone comes in and buys Spurs then winning trophies and competing will not happen !!

I don't understand what you are trying to say. I think the age of the squad is not a specifically extreme stat any longer.

They have been together between 3 some of them 5 yrs we finished 3rd then 2nd this season we are regressing in the premier league. That is due to Levy/Enic not strengthening in the right areas. We have lost so much pace in the side. Peps most effective two signings this season all though one injured were left and right back. Walker and Mendy have taken them to the next level. We have no pace on the right side so lost all our dynamics and shape. As much as I hate to say it loosing Walker has fucked us right up. We are going to loose Rose, Dier and Ali next so you tell me?
We are not going to lose Rose Dier and Alli next year, and I don't believe Poch has taken this team as far as he can, the team will get better, we lost Walker's pace but nobody else and my understanding is that Aurier is quite quick anyway, that said I do think we could do with a fast bugger or two and hopefully we are working on that, but the idea that we have reached the end of the road and need to start again is not one I agree with.
What I do think, by the noises coming out of the club, including Poch, is that there is a lively discussion going on about our next step into the transfer market and whether it should be a step up in value, that make me optimistic.

I remember over the summer saying that if we wanted to be able to play 3 at back whenever needed then just buying Sanchez wasn't enough. As all that needed to happen was a Wanyama injury at same time as a CB being out and we'd be in problematic position of either not having a DM or a 3rd CB depending on where Dier was playing. We have to sign either a DM or a CB in Jan who Poch would trust to start no matter the opposition.

We are certainly are in a better place than we were 15/20 years ago so enic have taken us on but can they go a step further well that is very debatable.

It hurts to get a tonking no matter what...City are shit hot at the minute a joy to watch no doubt about it but fuck me this is a classic SC match thread, all the sandy vaginas on display.

did any of us expect anything out of today? I certainly didnt...they are bang in form and better than us currently but to turn around and say our players are shit and get rid of this one and that one is typical 'big club' entitlement and its sickening, we have come a long way and the journey is only just beginning there is plenty more of these days to come and plenty more better days. Onwards and upwards.

I think it's fully plausible that for some of them, they will never get better than the best we've seen already. Whilst others may were well yet have another level to go to. As a squad overall, they should be judged by where they are now, not by this perpetual notion that they are all so young.
