Welcome to the Man City Vs Spurs Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

City are there for the taking defensively at the moment.

Haaland obviously looks scary but in a way if you now stop him (very hard to do), you end up stopping city quite a bit just like Villa did for most of the game today. Sure they still have KDB and tons of other good players but one kind of benefit of them having haaland is that it changes their style of play a bit.

Massive massive game this. One of those games that Jose used to say “we want to win BUT WE MUST NOT LOSE”

Also, I think the pressure is more on City.

We can set up to contain and counter.

We'll have tonnes of space to counter into.

I'd rest PEH against Marseille and keep Richarlison fresh for City as well. Their work rate will be huge for this.

Conte should be very excited about this game. Plenty of opportunity for us to cause a shock without a great deal of pressure.

A big call for Conte will be at LCB. Does he go for the experienced and reliable Davies, or Lenglet who could be instrumental in springing counter attacks. I would personally back Lenglet and take the game by the scruff of the neck. I imagine Conte will trust Davies since we took all the points last year.

Yeah I'd go Lenglet @ City and Davies mid week.

Wouldn't be surprised if its the other way round though.

But we're going to start seeing the benefit of having far more quality in depth now.

Lenglet is actually a very good defender. He suffered at Barca in a back 4 with no pace that were constantly pushed way too far up the pitch. In a back 3 I think he could be a fantastic player for us, and as I said at the time, I'm a bit pissed that we didn't get a buy option in his deal.

You're right pinkypoo. If what he said yesterday is anything to go by, rotation will be kicking in pretty soon.

He said: Now my expectations of other players, good players like Bissouma to come quickly into our idea of football. Because now we don’t have a lot of time, we play many games and I have to count on the players I have in my squad

Exactly what form that takes, who he rotates and when he does it? Who knows. But he's not silly, so it'll be who and when he and his staff see as appropriate.

Yep and that's the beauty of having more quality to choose from.

When you don't have that strength in depth you'd be more reluctant to make changes but risk more fatigue and injuries.

We will either show up and put in a real performance and win this by the odd goal or totally capitulate and lose 4-1 or something. Can’t see there being a happy middle ground

we can afford to lose this because we are getting points when we should. Hope we put in a good performance regardless of the outcome.
