Oh god I can see the unrealistic expectations building already.

Hold your horses guys, this isn’t the magical player who will help us defeat the bus parkers.

Yes he has ability but I don’t anticipate him beginning to make an impact until next season. He will definitely need to a lot of time with the coaching team.

He was massively hyped as a youngster but his time at PSG has been relatively underwhelming. And competing in the prem is going to be a huge step up from facing cannon fodder each week while playing for by far and away the strongest team in the French league.

Is he really that famous? I didn’t think he was that well known. I mean I know a lot of people probably know is name, but he isn’t the type of player to have his own line of shoes or tracksuits is he?
He was a lot better known whilst at San Paulo then other Brazilian exports of the same age at the same time. He was wanted by the best teams and many were surprised when he actually went to PSG - especially given the overall quality of their league. He then went for a shedload of money. He was substantially mre famous then than all the bunch that have gone for relatively small amounts elsewhere in the world Malcom included!

Plus he can use his left foot! ;):D

Precisely why English fans has a bad reputation in Asia.

Sadly BT and Sky are partially to blame for that. Long gone are the days where you could once a week tune into Champions League matches and regularly see the best teams and players playing. We can't even watch our own national leagues without paying a fortune. Legally anyway. For a lot of people all they even get to see is Fa cup matches or highlights.

I might be going mad, but I can see a load of posts complaining about people complaining about signing Lucas Moura. I can't see that many people actually complaining about signing Lucas Moura.

Just so everyone is aware, this is a post complaining about people complaining about people complaining about signing Lucas Moura.

I’m not gonna pretend I know or have seen a lot of Lucas, apart from clips. However he looks like he could be very handy, and having a new signing like him over none is only positive.

I think the negative response to this signing is more of an exaggeration, due to having their beaks wet by the prospect of signing Malcom who is younger and considered a better prospect and are sounding out because they believe signing Lucas means no Malcom.

I think if we weren’t linked with Malcom, people’s opinions and reactions to this potential signing would have been very different.

What's your point?

Dele scores a lot of "tap ins" so does sessegnon and most of sterlings goals this season have been "tap ins"

It reaches a point when someone scores so many "tap ins" that you have to say they have good positioning and it's not just something you can undermine them with anymore
Why do you assume I’m saying scoring tap ins is a bad thing? I even say it’s a very good skill to have so not sure why you thought I was being negative? I’m just saying that some people think he is more like a Mahrez or Salah type who will be scoring screamers from outside the box on the regular. I’m just pointing out that his finishing on the whole is not his strong point and that one shouldn’t always make a judgment about ones ability purely based on stats and a few YouTube highlights videos. As I have already posted, I think signing him for the value quoted is excellent business and he could become a fantastic singing for us if he realises his potential.

Fair enough, but I still think he needs to establish himself and a first team player and big contributor before his game could help Spurs in the marketing department.

There's always a vocal minority, but anyone who is less positive about Moura than Sissoko needs their head examined.

He's a very good player. United nearly signed him before he went to PSG for what was then big money. And despite losing his place in the team it's not like he's been sitting around for years and years. Last year he scored 18 goals (and no I don't care how many were tap ins or penalties), which is 18 more than Sissoko scored last season, and 3 more than Sissoko has scored since 2011.

We need more goals from throughout the team, not just Kane, and he'll provide a great option on the right. Would he walk into United or City's team? Maybe not. But we've a chance to sign a major talent, still only 25, for one-sixth (!) of the price that Coutinho went for. The market is insane and the fact that he's not first choice for PSG is clouding some people's minds, I think. They've got fucking Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe up front lol.

Maybe he won't work out (although if you're reading this, Lucas, that's not a get-out clause) but it's the kind of shrewd signing that we need to keep making until our revenues allow us to splash out a bit more. Zaha is the same age, got fewer than half as many goals last year, and would cost literally twice as much, if not more.

I'm not saying we should all be dancing in circles in daisy-strewn fields
, but right now I can't see any real downside to this transfer. Quality flair forward with pace and a good track record for a bargain.

Why didn't you say something earlier? It's taken me fucking ages to find this daisy strewn field and I'm out here on my own with a leotard right up the crack of my arse. It's very uncomfortable. Fuck it! I'm going home.

There seems to have been more positivity with the 30m signing of Sissoko than Lucas at 23m.

Can't get my head around that.

And I never will.

This is the Internet. A signing is either a useless no-mark ( for which Danny has to get google out) or greatest signing ever which means we’re going to win the CL.

There is rarely a middle ground.

All I know is, even though there are players that I’d prefer, signing Moura is a far more exciting prospect than the types of attacking players we’ve been signing of late.

If we keep going with this circular "he looks shit I'm not fussed if we don't sign him"/"don't be so fucking stupid he looks amazing" thing we'll hit 100 pages well before the announcement.

I think it’s because the people that are complaining about people complaining are really complaining, but making it look like someone else is doing the complaining when really it’s them complaining in the first place. Complaining!
