Not sure i believe this press line as such (i don't buy much of their BS in general) but funny if this is the case for Rose and Everton are one of the few interested, definitely not the move he was looking for when he threw his toys out of the pram.

If he can get fit/stay fit and show some heart again, i'd rather keep than replace him but i don't think this is a pure football move any more. I think we've weighed up his value and i don't think he's as key to us as he thought he was in a number of respects.

I totally agree; Rose, Aurier, and KWP are the type of fullbacks that fit the style Poch wants to play the best. Davies is an excellent backup to Rose and will still get plenty of matches due to Poch's tendency to rotate the fullbacks.

I also think Keanan Bennetts from the U23s would fit the mold of the LB/LWB that Poch fancies. Bennetts has had an excellent season and deserves an seat on the plane to America this summer.

I feel bad for Trippier as he has been a good servant to the club and has put in some good performances over the past two seasons. However, I think Aurier and KWP have a higher ceiling than Trippier and that puts them ahead of him IMO.

The big question is does Rose still want to be at Tottenham, especially if a big club like United come calling?
Well the numbers will need making up with the WC this summer, so Bennetts and many others in the academy are certain to be playing in the US tour. Doesnt mean anything for the season though. Dont think Poch is likely to give anyone in the academy chances next season

World cup is an interesting one for Danny boy & the club from an asset point of view. A chance to go in the shop window but any major injury and he will never get the big move he's so "worth".

We simply must keep him. Top shelf LB. i’ll be supremely dissapointed if we sell. FB was an issue this season because we simply cannot play as quick when our FB’s arent quick. Keep Rose as first choice. Keep Davies as backup. Sell Trippier. Promote KWP to rotate with Aurier. And that’s our FB situation sorted.
Tbh to avoid a heart attack regarding a replacement i'd probably take that. But I just think Rose has struggled physically this season. He's lost pace and his injuries are becoming a real worry. As a result Davies was getting run ragged towards the end.

If we're going to keep Rose we have to be 100% sure he's physically right. I don't think we can be sure so on balance I think we should sell him. That's obviously under the assumption we get a good wing back in to replace him though. If there's any hint of incomings not going to plan at LB then he has to stay.

Depending on how England want to play, both Bertrand and Young could be ahead of Danny if he's unlucky.

He loves doing an interview, doesn't he?

He must have no mates and just constantly calls the media to sit down and chat to someone

I thought on Sunday he showed something of what we missed with pace, energy, passion and not a little skill. Whether he can do this consistently still we will find out

I just don't think there is proper value for him right now unless he kills it at the World Cup. The guy has played 28 premier league games combined over the last 2 years. Just think the best thing for all parties is Rose stays, kills it and then we can move him on if he still wants.

Definitely sounds like he wants to be here.

If he misses out out on going to the World Cup I'd expect him to be fit and firing for the new season. If we can get one or two more seasons out of him playing at his best it could save us a lot of money.

Certainly looks like staying might be a possibility.

"I wish I could have played more, but you have two players to compete in each position and that is how I would want it at any football club."

Rose added: "I fancy myself against anybody in the league. Pre-season I'll come back and hopefully me and Ben start from scratch and we start again and work hard to nail that number one spot."

Maybe it's media training, maybe it's lack of suitors but I'd be happy to give him a fresh slate for pre-season. Could be especially handy if Sessegnon can't come in or is loaned back. Looked more like himself against Leicester.

Maybe he realises how bloody good we are (mentioned he only just realised how big an achivement getting CL was) and the Everton link has scared the crap out of him!
