Sissoko was very good today

He was when he was able to get involved but the problem was that he and Winks were just getting bypassed so often and when we got the ball back we couldn't carry it up the field. We invited so much pressure it threw all of our players a bit.

We ceded so much easy ball to Fabinho. It was frustrating to watch and probably frustrating to play. Winks just couldn't get on the ball and he's much better than his performance today showed.

Disappointing but expected result shame that we wasn't positive enough going forward because when we did they were vulnerable, but didn't start playing until the last 10mins similar to last week what's up with us.

Alli hasn't pushed on and Eriksen has been shit, shouldn't have played against Robertson, basically stuff we said before and during the match.

What's annoying is that Eriksen played against Robertson for practically the whole game. How the problem with this was not recognised and kept for practically the whole game is baffling.

I mean, going 1-0 up at Anfield, with a huge chance to go 2-0 up, suggests the plan was working. I don't think we could've dominated possession and won, that's exactly how Liverpool want teams to setup against them. They obviously dominated the game but we tried to weather the storm, did it quite well for large periods, conceded a goal from a good finish, and then a stupid penalty
But the signs were there as Liverpool were getting joy from around the 25th minute. If it wasn't for Gaz or better finishing we'd likely have gone in behind.

Nothing wrong with setting up to play on the counter but once the opposition start to have joy you need to change something.

Once again Poch waited until we were behind. It's predictable, it's not doing your job, it's also why he's not a winner.

Mate it was seriously pissing me off how much time Robertson was getting on the ball, didn't even bother to stop him, you have to at least stop one of their full backs and we did neither.

And its been the case for sometime mate. Tactically Poch doesn't have that ability to react in game.

I really, really think we've hit the glass ceiling with him.

It was a good effort from the lads today but Poch is severely limited in this department and it's beggining to bite now.
Agree

When my wife said after 20 minutes that Eriksen can't be asked to stop Robertson why don't we do something, and Poch left him on until it was too late, you have to ask yourself what is Poch upto...

I an one of Poch's loyal vocal fans... But spurs are always my priority, and I am starting to believe that Poch's limitations are there for all to see and we are starting to see the beginning of the end.... Sadly

This is only partly true. We lucked out a deflected goal but it never once looked like we'd keep a clean sheet. They were running rings around us on the flanks and in midfield. I never once felt like we were winning despite almost being 2-0 up after 47 minutes due to what was happening on the pitch.

If the brief was to stay on Robertson in a 451 then why not play Lucas there, who has the pace to keep up with him and could maybe get behind him on the counter? Obviously Poch doesn’t trust Lucas tactically, but it seemed like a no-brainer.

Exactly.

This isn’t a niche, left-field suggestion. It’s clear and obvious to everyone except the manager apparently.

He also asked who realistically would come in for him in January. Would he honestly improve utd, Madrid, PSG etc. Fair point I think

Lucas, Sissoko anyone.

How you gonna play a player who doesn't even want to be at this fucking club against a player who is as aggressive as Robertson, and when he got the ball he did fuck all with it... just gets me more angry every time I think about it.

He doesn't want to be at Spurs anymore and he's playing well below his level so a fresh start will do him good.

What did he say?
Well all of them agreed Alli has been not good enough for 12-24 months and Keane hammered him for his mentality and his off the field antics. On Eriksen, Carra said he felt Eriksen is deluded if he thinks he is good enough for a Real Madrid and is a Spurs level player at best.

We totally amd utterly deserved to lose today.

That's the bottom point.

Anybody that disagrees with that is off their fucking rocker.

Yes. Against Liverpool. Maybe the best team in Europe right now. And we were away. The context is everything.

Bad results against weaker teams much more worrying. This was a decent effort.

It’s why he should be sacked
