have we no youth players coming through like foden no?

our academy needs to start ponying up

We gave one his debut today. We also have Devine and the lads on loan (Skipp, Parrott, Sess, Clark etc).

Also important to note that Foden had to wait about 3/4 years to get his chance having been in and around the first team but not really getting games during that time.

Clarke and Sess aren't products of our academy. Im Irish and id have to say Parrott does nothing for me.

Skipp looks mustard though.

edit wasn't Sessegnon 25 million quid?

Not happening frequently enough for mine.

Jose has said he isn't impressed with the next crop of youngsters coming through. (I think it's not including Skipp, Sessegnon ect out on loan)
It's the ones younger like Devine and Scarlett that are catching his eye. They are also now training with the first team

Lucas does nothing for me. We have seen that run a thousand times to no avail. In fact he held onto it too long today before he played son in. The pass was there to be played far quicker than he did. I was screaming at the tv.

Even a blind squirrel finds the odd nut. He got away with it today. He's shite.
neg rep all you like. no team above us would give us two bob for him.

Not good enough for a team of our aspirations. if you tolerate his ability then you don't want what's best for the club. If he was plumber you'd take him to the small claims court after a job.
I have shown in bold the only part of your two posts that does not merit a "dislike". You can either engage in constructive criticism and refrain from calling our players "shite" or you can be an arsehole. Your choice.

And, for what it's worth, I disagree with you.

The difference is whenever Foden plays he looks like a Prem play, apart from Kane who's getting on a bit now, not many of ours do.

I don't see why they would not be trying one minute and then working hard today and taking 3 points. Seems to me they were given a bit more freedom today and took the opportunity. Could be either way I guess. I'm just happy with a win.
You'd need to be a fly on the wall to know the reasons, but whatever the reason, the evidence is right there before our eyes. The players were not doing the fundamentals that they would have been taught in their youth teams, move into space, show for the ball, communicate. You don't need a WC manager/coach to tell you this every game, it's muscle memory, they've done it throughout their playing days from about the age of 6!
If I were to guess, there's been a real clear the air talk, and probably a player meeting led by Kane where maybe a few home truths have been told.

TBH I don't particularly care what has been said/done as long as it works from this point onwards.

As I’ve said in previous posts, I don’t think JM is entirely absolvable of blame for our poor performances either, and you may have a good point.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

What I have said previously though is that JM has stated he doesn’t want them to play so deeply, both he and the coaches have been seen, and heard, on the sidelines exhorting them to push up the pitch, and Kane himself has said that the players haven’t been doing what they have been coached to do, so it’s difficult to point at the coaching and instructions to say that they are to blame for the attitude of the players. When they execute as they’ve been instructed we generally win, when they don’t...

It appears that they did what they were told and, hey presto, a relatively comfortable 3 points with a largely dominant display.

Maybe they’ve sat them down and showed them video of the games we’ve won, where they followed the system, against video where we haven’t so the players can see the stark difference between the performances.

It’s exactly what I would do anyway.
I agree that the truth is somewhere on between but disagree that Jose tells them to press and be aggressive as we did today. He may well tell them to push up the pitch when we are camped on the edge of our own box as a result of inviting pressure. As for telling them to press high up, I dont think so.

The manager sets the tone, he coaches the team to play how he wants. There is simply no way that top class footballers would be coached to press and be aggressive yet week after week play the way that we do. It just isn't possible. They are told to play that way. Today was an exception.

Hes really not shite mate. You don't score a hattrick in a champions league semi-final or play for psg and brazil if you're shite. He's frustrating i grant you, but shite, not by a way.

He’s clearly not shite in that has has some great technical skills, but then so did Stephane Dalmat.
The problem is he’s got no football brain at all.
He plays like a zombie just running around.

I would associate technical with him at all. Maybe we look at it differently. He's a run and hit merchant.
He can't put his foot on it, slow down the play and make a decision.

But they haven't ignored his instructions week after week, that's just your perception based on the last few games where they have.

I've explained this innumerable times, against City, the goons, Leeds and others we have pressed intelligently, making teams play where we want them to both to render their attacks less potent, and to set them up to play into the traps we set.

We did all this in most games up until Anfield. After that game it just stopped for no immediately apparent reason, other than the players just stopped doing it on the pitch.

Do you honestly believe the coaching staff had the players in after the loss at Anfield and said to then "right lads, the system has worked up until now, but because Liverpool locked a win against us we've decided it no longer works so we're tearing it up. What we want you to do now is sit on the 18 yard line, yes Pierre, you as well, stand stationary when we win the ball back and not have an attempt on goal until we go a goal behind. We'll win the league that way boys, trust us."

Now JM might have mishandled the management of the players themselves in some way though, from a little insider rumour I've got from my Brother, there's a bad element within the playing staff, led by one player in particular.

Not naming any names, but it rhymes with Gary Spinks

Pinch of salt of course, but smoke/fire and all that...

Im talking about players breaking through into the first team and staying there. Like Kane. Not the little cameos you're on about above.

And to your second point. No need for that.

Play the ball not the man mate. You don't know me at all. I don't even live in England. You've essentially branded me a racist in that post for no reason either like im some sort of middle aged gammon fan.
You're certainly not a racist but I expect you have seriously offended the Friends of the Blind Squirrels Society
