I’m a bit surprised to see so many on here taking the official Barcelona stance on this as gospel truth. The fact is this situation is intensely embarrassing for them. To lose one of the jewels of their prized La Masia, maybe the best after Pedri, because they ran their club so horrendously that they can’t give anyone a raise, is shocking. When all the journos close to Barca suddenly start posting about how it’s all the greedy player’s fault, almost in unison, it stinks of PR spin. Wait and see, wait and see…

I'm sure such a promise was made with Nuno's nod, and perhaps it is just the phrasing of the tweet, but I'd rather not hear of Paratici making playing promises.

No one should be promised anything. Work for it, and you’ll earn what you get. Some have more leeway due to their consistent performances and general class, but Ilaix better be prepared to work and I hope he hasn’t been promised this. If he performs to his potential, then of course he should be starting important league games very soon though.
