How is it conte fault? Did he make lloris make 2 amateur mistakes? Or winks, Sanchez, Doherty lose the ability to play the ball to their team mates or for us to miss chance after chance
The players are who they are. It’s not a surprise to anyone. Picking Winks in a midfield 2 is suicidal. Making Sanchez play actual football is suicidal. Conte’s stubborn adherence to 3-4-3 is not beyond question at all. It puts our already shaky defence under continuous pressure and leads them to making more mistakes. Yes, we need a clear out, but shoehorning these players into a 3-4-3 is exacerbating the problem.

Disgustingly bad first half killed us. Better second half but we could have played all day and not scored. I thought Romero was good today, but he was the only one.

Next season can’t come soon enough so we can actually try and assemble a football team. Worryingly, I remember saying exactly the same at this stage last season. Shocking that we’re in this state.
And the season before!

Let me guess... everyone negative will be "over reacting", "anything can happen" in the top 4 race and tomorrow we'll have some ITKs back to tell everyone that we're building for next season and things will be different?

Finishing 7th or 8th could be allright for us.

No Europe would suit this paperthin squad. I just hope United find some form and finish ahead of Arsenal and Wham for 4th.

The only problem is we will get the "impossible to get in our summer targets due to lack of Europe" lined rolled out.

When you see the absolute rubbish being offered up and no push to improve the squad in January - it’s hard to not give up a bit when you can see the club has written off this half of the season.
Yes mate club didn't do enough until the last two days but nothing changes.

As Conte himself has said on multiple occasions, it will take years and several transfer windows to get back to where we were under Poch. We aren't very good at that won't change next week, next month, or come the end of the season. If nothing else, accepting that fact will make these shit performances and results a little bit easier to stomach.
Everyone says back Conte, but nobody listens to this. The whole culture these days is wanting everything on a plate here and now, or the toys go flying out of the pram. They then say they don't want a sugar daddy owner, while still expecting sugar daddy performances, wanting Levy out but not wanting a Glazer-style investor either. Toddlers everywhere I'm afraid.

Well that was just like the 90s. Honestly we all know the players that are not good enough. But as Trix says we are going to have to wait for the summer.
I’m certain we will have a better more balanced squad next season.

Well if Southampton was bad, that was horrific. A goalkeeper that won't catch; wingbacks that can't attack or defend; no cohesion or understanding in the centre of defence; a midfield that's a miss-mash of styles but always a player short due to the manager's stubbornness; and a three man forward line that just isn't working. Games in hand made it look like we were half decent.

Those that called it a great window.

Laughable.

It's was a 6/10 or 7/10 window when a 9 or 10 was needed.

We're at risk at losing Conte. I'm in no doubt.
Name one team challenging for a Champions League place anywhere in Europe that had a better window. Just one. Go on? Ours was bang average, so it should be really, really easy!

The options are limited tbf what is he supposed to do? We played most of this match with 3 in the midfield and nothing much changed
