I'm confident we will get a result against Southampton as I'm confident we will have a good season. However we are still a long way short of City and Liverpool even though we have strengthen the squad I don't feel we have bought a real quality player than can change a game. City have added Haaland and Liverpool Nunez they are top quality buys we haven't done that yet but as I said I think we will have a good season starting tomorrow with a 2-0 win.

In Son and Kane we have game changers. Perisic, Kulu, Richarlison and Moura can be game changers too.
If we stay solid at the back, we have a strong team. I agree that we are still short of the top two, but if we finish third I'd be delighted with that.

I’m still on holiday so will be watching from across the Atlantic. I think we’ll come 3rd at least but I think we may be slow getting out of the blocks for the first games. I have a feeling it may be 1-1.

Do we think Perisic will start? I’m pretty sure he will but contes comments in his presser made me not sure if he’s quite ready yet, I’m off to the game and hope he plays and would love to see him live, he’s truly World class, would fancy him to get a goal if he does play.

Won’t be an easy game but hopefully we can get an early goal and crowd behind the team and then get another few after that to go top ;)

Sess is going to start.

Perisic will be on the bench.

Hate getting Southampton early in the season tbh. Totally fit, drilled, shape and pressing tactics as fresh as they’ll ever be. Potential for trouble.

Our work is cut out for us here: weather their press for the first 30 minutes, sniff a few opportunities, stay defensively tight, we win this match going away. Committed, focused, drilled performance necessary, they battered us in February.

Yes, I’m already bricking it. The jitters, the butterflies, the permutations and machinations of a new season. But this is why we do it. Kickoff can’t come soon enough. COYFS

Buzzzing for today. Need to start well as the stadium will be buzzing with expectation. Looking forwards to seeing Lenglet Romero Dier as a 3! hopefully perisic Bissouma and spence can get 20-30mins! COYS

There are no easy games in this league, if you want to be a top side then you have to get it done whoever you have to play and whenever you have to play. If players have difficulty with that, then to be honest they probably are going to struggle to constantly win things.

Let's hope the tough pre season sees us come out of the traps quickly.

All about playing with good tempo or we make it easier for Southampton to stay compact and soak up pressure.

Need that high tempo.

Do that and we'll win.

An early goal to take the pressure off for us. Otherwise will be a long game fretting every time they get a free kick

Our fitness will see us through to some greatness I feel. The lads haven't been looking better in shape.

......we haven't done that.......because we have one of, if not the best, attacking force in the premier!
