Here in Bulgaria we are just 8 000 000 people. Most of us, interested in football know something. Dimitar leaves this summer. Do not hate him. He is a nice person and the last thing he wants is to be hated by Spurs fans as Carrick. Yes. Emil Danchev, his manager talks much. I don't like it too, but is a true fact that Dimitar leaves the club. This is the first time in his career when he is so much supported and loved by fans, do not ruin this. We are all fans and he is a professional footballer. We all want passion but it can't be always about passion. Sometimes is about titles, about motivation or money. Berbatov wants titles, not money, not so much glory at all. He is happy here but not at 100%. Give him what he need. Support.

Which Spurs fans hate Carrick, and how do you know what he wants? I think this is what you, the Bulgarian nation want, for your best footballer, and not actually what he wants.

For the record, I don't hate Carrick at all. Far from it in fact - I still keep an eye out for how he is playing because he was good to us and handled his transfer to Manure impeccably, by keeping himself and his agent out of the media and allowed the club to negotiate without unnecessary media interference.

According to a very highly regarded In The Know on this site we have set a price tag of £40m. Three clubs have made bids, an AC Milan who won't be in the CL next year, and Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina, of which the latter two aren't any better options than Spurs, and they've all been around £20m so we've said no anyway.

Berbatov has also never talked about having itchy feet or anything and seems very happy. All the speculation is almost certainly Dantchev's work, and the wishes of your nation.

Why are you Bulgarians so desperate for him to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world when he seems happy at Spurs, plays regularly in Europe and under Ramos achieve to aspire greater things? His reputation would be much larger if he helped take Spurs to the top of the PL and Europe within the next 3-4 years than if he went to a big gun and basically had everything served to him on a silver plate.

PS: We don't hate Carrick. Nobody here hates Carrick as far as I know. A hell of a lot of people would love to have him back if there was a chance he would come.

It's not about that he is the best Bulgarian player at the moment. I bought a Tottenham t-shirt and on the backside isn't written Berbatov, but Lennon. About Carrick and the fans there are really different positions. I'm telling you all that i've readed here since i'm registered. I dislike United, Chelsea and Arsenal and i'm not so interested if Berbatov will play there. I just want to see him playing his best. But Tottenham is not ready to win even the UEFA CUP. Dimitar has no time to waste. Bent is 23, Dimitar is 28. As a fan of CSKA Sofia i know him as a person. I can't tell you what he wants, let me leave the additional information for me, i'm telling you just some facts. And about his injury, the title of the thread is something like a question. It looks fishy as someone said. I am just discussing with you here. Yes, in Bulgaria we have thousands of speculations per day. Just respect the guy, whatever he decides. He deserves it.

See, I don't care about what he means to Bulgaria. I don't care how 'nice' Berbatov is.

It seems you support Berbatov like I support Spurs, which I find quite odd.

If he chooses to manufacture a transfer away from us, then as a Spurs fan, I feel thats when all ties are severed. I won't worry about hurting his feelings, or give a shit about the rest of his career.

BUT, if he does stay, to help the team, he knows he will be a Tottenham Legend.

We'll see what his true motivations are this summer.

I think fans in the past where split on carrick but now we have seen the bigger picture I think most of us have accsepted that Carrick in ways helped the club. Judas would of been a better example....or Carr

I know he can be a Tottenham Legend. I'm not fallen in love with Berbatov :eek:mg: Spurs were lucky to get him for a 10 milion deal. You just don't have the cash to get some more classy players at the Lane. I watched every game this and the previous season and there are no service for your scorers. Forget it. As you said we will see in the summer transfer window. I'll be the happiest man if Dimitar stays at Spurs but if you do not sell him how will you buy class players for the "great team" expected? I can't see Villa or Eto'o if Dimitar stays?. If you qualify in the first four you even can't be sure you will reach the groups of the champions league. The team needs time to grow. Ramos is changing everything and that may cost 1-3 years...

really how much you bet, we are in the top 15 richest clubs in europe and have lots and lots of cash availible. We were the biggest spenders of the league last window and dont be supprised if that changes. With Modric delivery should improve. But considering are strickers have scored 46 goals this season. Is good delivery needed!? and Jenas and Hudd can play some amazing balls but bouth being hot and cold players they cant constantly preform. If we wanted to we could easliy spen 60mill without having to sell anyone

I understand what you're saying but...

we've signed Modric who should once he adjusts (which he should do relatively quickly) be a sort of playmaker who can feed the strikers with the killer balls. And we will almost certainly sign other players to sort out other problem areas, most notably in goal and in the centre of midfield. I for one would not be surprised at all if Berbatov has said to Ramos et al that he would stay if we signed the right players. Modric is definitely one of those.

I wasn't there, and couldn't watch the stream, but did anyone actually see this happen, or see Berba at the ground?

I ask because of this on the OS:

Meanwhile, the Head Coach confirmed that Dimitar Berbatov and Aaron Lennon missed out because of injury. "Lennon was injured on Wednesday, a knee injury and Berbatov injured his groin on Friday."

And the fan report of seeing him at WHL today.

So Berbatov being injured on Friday doesn't make a fan seeing him on a stadium tour any more believable.

Shall I, shan't I? Apologies in advance to all if you've read similar posts of mine on various boards, but I feel duty bound.

I just want to see him playing his best. But Tottenham is not ready to win even the UEFA CUP. Dimitar has no time to waste. Bent is 23, Dimitar is 28.

Berbatov undoubtedly had the best season of his career in 06-07 when he joined Spurs, catapulting him into world stardom. But for a dodgy Pen in Seville given by the Ref, we had a great chance of winning the UEFA Cup last season, and were one of the better teams in the competition, breaking a British record of 8 consecutive victories. It was either gonna be us or Seville, and they got the luck with the Ref's decisions in that first match of the Quarter-Final.

Berba has not long turned 27 (on Jan 30th to be precise), just reaching his peak years for a Footballer. With Spurs he won his first Trophy at Wembley on Feb 24th since he played for CSKA as a teenager. It's hardly been a waste of time being at our club, has it? Though I accept, clearly not good enough for Danchev or the Bulgarian press, the BFU, and it seems most BG Fans.

As a fan of CSKA Sofia i know him as a person. I can't tell you what he wants, let me leave the additional information for me, i'm telling you just some facts.

Have you met and spoken to him? Are you his friend? Or do you just know of him, as a player at CSKA whom you used to watch?
It's astonishing how everyone in BG knows what's best for Berba, over and above what he may want himself. I often feel he says things for public consumption in his homeland due to the overwhelming pressure for him to be as high profile as possible, and win the Golden Ball as Europe's best player. Nothing esle is enough it seems, he wins the BPOTY for the 4th time and the press ask; "When will you win the Golden Ball like Stoichkov?" He replies, "To do this, you must first play in the CL to be considered," and so it all starts up again, 'when and where will he be transferred to?'

Yes, in Bulgaria we have thousands of speculations per day. Just respect the guy, whatever he decides. He deserves it.

Indeed. He's had more respect and love and admiration from Spurs Fans than he ever got from CSKA Fans or gets from Bulgarian Team supporters, as Berba himself has said.

Sure, Berbatov has no time to waste. His body-clock is ticking; his child-bearing time is limited.

I believe that vast quantities of money don't matter to him (although they do to Dantchev, for whom he is pretty obviously the Golden Goose). One can't blame him for wanting to play at the highest level—but there is a difference between playing at the highest level, and winning at the highest level. He could have done the former by staying with Bayer, could he not? After all, they're only just out of the mix for next season's CL.

But write off the Bundesliga; Zenit's destruction of by far its best side shows that German football is gone, baby, gone. I'd go so far as to say that the CL will be dominated by La Liga and the EPL for the next two to three seasons.

According to some decent ITK, Levy has stuck a colossal £40m on Berba's head. According to the same ITK, only Atleti, Fiorentina and Milan have shown interest, and none has put in a bid remotely approaching our demands. None of the three is guaranteed CL football next season (as far as Serie A goes it's either Fiorentina or Milan), and none, excepting Milan, is a sure-fire bet for CL participation in the future.

You say Tottenham are 'not ready to win even the UEFA cup'. Sorry, but that's complete rubbish. We lost to Sevilla last season, but dominated fully 50% of the tie and were done by two terrible refereeing decisions and two moments of mad defending; against PSV, we were beaten by their decision to pack their area. They couldn't take us on in an open game and hope to win, and knew it. Their tactics flummoxed us, as they did Arsenal in the CL last season, but that was down to a lack of experience on our part. It was noticeable that when they played a more open game against Fiorentina, the Violeta disposed of them pretty easily.

Berbatov isn't stupid. On the contrary, he's one of the most intelligent and articulate footballers in the EPL. I'm sure he'll weigh up his options sensibly. And Spurs may prove to be one of the best of them.

BTW, only idiots hate Carrick.
