Interestingly Ferguson sais at the weekend that Ronaldo will be with us NEXT SEASON.

All has gone quiet at Madrid, Ronaldo now seemingly has nothing to say and United confidently announce his staying for next season.

All smacks of a deal to me and Ronaldo will be on his way next summer. This doesn't seem much different to me to what we probably thrashed out with Berba last summer.

if i'm right I wonder if United fans will then herald their club as a "selling one or Real's feeder".

the bottom line is all clubs are forced to sell players from time to time, with the possible exception of madrid who are without doubt the most glamorous club in the world. Deep down even poor old Fergie and utd fans know that.

You spoke too soon. This was on the BBC tonight.

Calderon still chasing Ronaldo

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is adamant Cristiano Ronaldo remains his club's number one transfer target despite Manchester United's insistence that the Portugal star will not be sold.
Sir Alex Ferguson met Ronaldo for clear-the-air talks on Monday and claimed on Friday that there was no chance he would be quitting United for Spain.
However, Calderon believes Ferguson's optimism is little more than a ruse to get more money out of the Primera Liga giants who are reportedly willing to pay no more than 85million euros.
"This type (of transfer) is hard," he told Spanish media, when asked about Ferguson's comments. "But we're going to go for it all the same.
"I suppose it's all about a manner of theirs to let us know clearly that they're not going to lower the price in any way and that if we want him we have to pay a lot more money."
Madrid chiefs are said to be convinced the winger - who is currently recovering from ankle surgery - will join them before the beginning of the season.
When asked about Ronaldo by the Madrid players on their first day of pre-season training, Calderon reportedly reassured them with the words "Don't worry, we have it all sorted."

where has the £20m fee come from? is that pure itk speculation?

It seems Liverpool have yet to make a offer, and if/when it comes in I bet it is much lower than £20M

Thank you very much.

I just couldn't resist looking in and seeing what the response was to Friday's events.

I shall be staying out of transfer rumours though and anything connected with ITK:wink:

having quickly thought about it, i didn't see this game until extra time, but I bet reckon its going to be to do with zonal marking.

I'd be inclined to agree with most of what Legend10 has written in this thread.

If I were a Liverpool fan I would be dismayed that a club with their stature and title winning aspirations, are willing to spend the rest of their transfer budget on Robbie Keane. Over the last few days I've read a lot of members insisting that we can't possibly sell Keane to Liverpool - our biggest rivals for 4th place. Quite honestly, I'd be far more concerned should they sign Villa or Eto'o to partner Torres.

Although £20 million would be a very decent offer for a player who is infuriatingly inconsistent, I think we'll be hard pushed to find a better replacement for less or a better forward who is willing to join a team in the UEFA Cup.

:) Very good. Though i don't like the fact you realise I'm so pedantic. But as Allardyce said, "they can't go man for man in those situations because not even the best defenders have eyes in the back of their heads." Exaclty the same deal, with the FK being taken fron the left and played into the space between the players and the goal.

Btw, I'm so pathetic that i sat infront of my computer screen for an hour after he'd said that waiting to see if you post.

So Sam Allardyce agreed with you, on reflection do you think that this is a good or bad thing:whistle:

As for the highlighted part, please tell me you never:grin:

Of course I never :shifty:. Do you seriously think I'm the kind of twat who'd remember an argument we had 6 months earlier and then run and wait for you to post, just because a football pundit agreed with me.

Let me think about it and I'll get back to you:razz:

back on topic please don't tell me that you think Keane is worth £20 million?

Already said loads of times, that it's far too good to turn down for a 28 year old, who isn't in the Berba/Torres class of player.

Having had the weekend to calm down. I'm not nearly as pissed at Keane as I was on Friday when it was pretty raw.

Disappointed yes, sad yes. Abso-fucking-lutely gutted yes. Angry with him? No. Will I ever boo him? No

he wants to play CL football and with guys like Steven "Your wifes a slag and has shagged half of Liverpool" Gerrard, and Fernando "Im not going to make a rude nickname for you because your quite a nice bloke" Torres. ALso Lpool is a ridiculously short flight to Ireland where his fam are.

He's 27 and CC as his first career trophy, I understand what he wants.........

but............

Why robbie why! Call it a moment of madness and stay PLEASE! We dont care about the other bloke!

I've made no decision. I don't have sufficient evidence. Neither does anyone else on SC.

But ten days ago, according to BEN, Keane was happy to stay if we said no to Liverpool. You believe everything BEN says, don't you? The same way you believe everything Levy says? Noodles said pretty much the same, behind his usual snide. According to Steff's contacts at the Lane, that was indeed the case—and then something happened to change his attitude.

It would be interesting to know what that something was. Whether we'll ever find out is a different matter.

I will boo him, no doubt. Though I respect peoples opinions, that is mine. He's warranted it. Causing problems with the rest of the squad......damaging team morale in the build up to such a vital season etc. I hate to think what the hell a 19yr old Dos Santos is thinking???!!!! The kid can barely speak the language let alone, deal with "MR TOTTENHAM SINCE 2002" kicking off about wanting to leave. You could probably cut the atmosphere with a knife at the moment, All this from a CLUB VICE CAPTAIN.

We need to get rid of these two muppets as soon as possible, but our position is almost untenable now because everyone knows they want to leave and we only have a month to sign two top class strikers before the season starts, and before the possible targets are signed up by other clubs in Europe.

Yes, it's easy to throw hate at someone, and I try not to be pessimistic but these two clowns have fucked our season up. If our strikeforce wants out, what similar standard striker is going to want to sign for us???!!!

I try not to swear unless I'm angry. Green Judas has made me angry. Fuck you Robert Keane......You can bet Carrick had a word of encouragement in Roberts ear at his wedding about the prosperity of moving to a top four club!!!
