Does anyone think it would be good to offer him to Celtic for a bit cheaper than liverpoo are willing to pay?

At least he wouldn't be playing against us in the prem - we all know what he's like against former clubs...

Could Celtic afford 20m or anything close to it right now? I thought they were watching the pennies.

Besides haven't they just bought a striker?

people said the same thing about carrick...we are still yet to replace him.i get the feeling the same thing will happen with keane...

A) Although they play in different positions it is obvious to anybody that Carrick is a far better footballer than Keane.

B) Carrick was 24/5 which means the buying club will either get plenty of years service or a sell on fee, unlike Keane who is 28 and will hold no residual value and within a couple of years would have been worthless to us.

C) There are few better players around than Carrick in the position that he plays, the same isn't true of Keane.

D) Carrick isn't a complete wimp and doesn't run away from the possibility of any physical contact, therefore doesn't have a yellow spine unlike the coward that is Robbie Keane.

E) In the 2 years prior to his transfer to utd carrick wasn't an ordinary player who was made to look a dam sight better than he was by his midfield partner, unlike Keane who has been by Berbatov.

I completely agree we have missed Carrick and would love him to still be playing for us.

But anywhere near £20 million for Robbie Keane is an absolute joke, he is a million miles away from being a player worthy of that price tag. To put it in perspective most people were divided over who was the better player out of Keane & Defoe. When you consider that the younger Defoe regardless of contract length went for circa £7 million to even utter Keane's name with a £20 million price tag is truly hilarious, add again that the younger and infinitely superior world class Berbatov is likely to go for only a few million more and Keane's price tag is so clearly ridiculous that a club would have to be off of their heads to even consider it. thank god liverpool are precisely that.

I for 1 think that Ramos is probably laughing his head off and would probably have willingly let Keane go for half that money.

I think your points and comparison with Carrick are spot on. Carrick is a compartively better player and harder to replace

Your sub text of spite toward keane that you've had from day one is not excused though. Keane is a fine footballer and well worth 20m.

If Keane is worth 20mill, which he may well be, then we got mugged off by Pompy for selling Defoe for 7mill. To say that their is a 13 mill difference, and Defoe being the younger is just ridiculous

I don't dislike Robbie Keane, i don't dislike him at all, the fact that I've never lauded him as others have doesn't mean I don't like him

But what I do know from watching my beloved Spurs week in week out is that he is a complete wimp and when it comes to the physical side of the game he is a complete coward.

Winning teams don't carry luxuries of Keane's ability. You may get away with a passenger who has far more ability than Keane. He may have been a senior pro at Spurs and got away with letting the other team have the ball even if it meant us being in danger of concedeing a goal but elsewhere I'm not so sure.

I shall watch with interest if he ends up at Liverpool to see how the likes of Gerrard and Carragher react when he hides from physical challenges in high profile games.

As for him being worth £20 million, I can't honestly believe that any Spurs fan really believes that, and in my opinion I maintain that Ramos was never that impressed hence why he pulled him so many times and would willingly have sold him for half that or even less.

Legend 10 you have summed it up in a more eloquant manner than I could muster. Prepare for some pretty vitriolic rep but you sir are absolutely bang on.

at the end of the day every spurs fan or individual would have a different way of seeing this. Another point is each of us has two sides! One will not like him lying the other will say he has done alot for us and given us great entertainment!

I feel both of those views. But at the end of the day, if ANY player is not 100%foccused on spurs, then he should not be involved... thats why i feel Barry will leave too and i still believe ronaldo will leave man utd. Players know what they want, they will say things to loose attention for a while, or not say anything atall in important situations.

On a positive note it makes way for pekhart!

Why do people keep saying that Keane lied? He didn't. He never said that he'd never leave Spurs. He never said that he'd definitely end his career at the lane. He never said that he bleeds blue and white.

What Keane essentially said (probably as much for its PR effect than anything else) was that he'd stay at Spurs for as long as he wanted to. He no longer wants to.

Deal with it.

Interestingly Ferguson sais at the weekend that Ronaldo will be with us NEXT SEASON.

All has gone quiet at Madrid, Ronaldo now seemingly has nothing to say and United confidently announce his staying for next season.

All smacks of a deal to me and Ronaldo will be on his way next summer. This doesn't seem much different to me to what we probably thrashed out with Berba last summer.

if i'm right I wonder if United fans will then herald their club as a "selling one or Real's feeder".

the bottom line is all clubs are forced to sell players from time to time, with the possible exception of madrid who are without doubt the most glamorous club in the world. Deep down even poor old Fergie and utd fans know that.

Pekhart?

Maybe next season, definitely not this season no matter how much the staff have been impressed with him in Spain.

Still has a lot to learn.

Some people are clueless. Its the fact that he said he was happy and content less than 2 months ago! Dont say things like that if you dont mean it Keane. Just shut up!

This is a joke.

Keane was happy...then. Liverpool are after him NOW. I don't know how to break it down any further.

Are you so constant in your feelings that you never change your mind about things - particularly about something as important as your career?
