I find it amazing that some people actually prefer him to Corluka. What are they watching? Corluka has had a poor start this season, granted, but anybody who cannot see that he has been top drawer in at least 75% of his games since signing for us needs their eyes checking and their head testing. On the flip side, I haven't seen Hutton have a remotely acceptable game since the League Cup final in 2008.

Spot on mate I would rather Corluka or Naughton to be honest!

Please watch the goal again, Rooney's movement was excellent, he bought Hutton inside, then cut back with a great touch, Huttons body was in a position to stop him cutting back but Rooney megged him!

Hutton wasn't in a mess, he was in a decent position for playing the average's (when Rooney recieved the ball, he span into the center, Hutton tracked him, and tried to shield him wide) BAE came across to help so Rooney turned the opposite way, (back towards Hutton) in order to do this he had to megg Hutton!

If you watch closely, after Hutton was megged, BAE accidently barged into Hutton which nocked him off balance and prevented him from blocking the eventual shot aswell!

I agree the goal was sloppy, from a team point of view, but we were chasing the game and left Hutton exposed with one of the best talents in the world in red hot form. I think its a case of "great goal, well done Rooney"!

No blame towards either full backs for me, just a bloody good goal from Rooney!!

mate all he did was cut inside and left Hutton for dead he hardly pulled some great trick or move out the bag

it was piss poor defending Hutton should've never let him and the ball back inside, one of the two or both shoulda been sent flying

Rooney got lucky with the nut meg. Plenty of times he would try that move and it hits Hutton's leg a high % of the time and Hutton clears the ball.

Thats ALL he did, you make it sound easy! are you Ronaldo posing as Luka Lennon??

Sending them flying is not really common in the modern game, he would have been sent off regardless if he had touched Rooney or not, after sending Scholes off the ref would have looked at every opportunity to level the numbers up!

Defoe got luck with his over head. Plenty of times he would try that move and it goes flying over the bar a high % of the time and its a goal kick.

a cut back or cutting inside is easy, it's a very basic dribbling move one of the first you learn and regardless of what the ref did Hutton should not of let him and the ball back inside, he didn't need to do a malicious foul but simply blocking him off woulda worked instead he did feck all and it was pretty much game over

I understand that Luka Lennon, i meant is it easy leaving Hutton for dead?

You cant tell me you genuinely believe Hutton did fuck all to stop Rooney, he tried to shield him away, didnt want to commit to a foul becuase of the risk of a pen or sending off, but Rooney "did him".

Like i said in a previous post, after Rooney had turned, Hutton went to block the shot but BAE accidently barged him and knocked him off balance so he couldnt block him.

I honestly cannot put all the blame to Hutton, yes he could have done better, obviously becuase it ended up a goal, but Rooney v Hutton (or any one else outside the SKY4 for that matter), 1 on 1, i would have Rooney 9 times out of 10 to beat him (them)!

Just watched that third goal again and i'll stand by my initial opinion of Hutton. Poor Defending.

If Hutton was trying to shield Rooney away, then it was an even worse attempt at Defending than i first thought.

You get your body in the way in an attempt to block a first time shot from rooney and also get your body in a position that doesn't allow him to turn back inside you and straight in on goal(Hutton did not do the latter) Give him all the fucking room he likes on the outside, away from goal.

I cant see us agreeing but i stand by my initial opinion aswell, in that Rooney has just beaten him and Hutton, for me, didnt do an awful lot wrong!

drop him from the squad and tell him to shape up

Alternatively, show a little faith, give him a run in the team, and let him play his way back to being one of the meanest, hottest fullbacks in Europe.

You did say the same thing about Darren Bent in the past, didn't you Kendall?

And when was this? On his day he maybe good but nowhere near "one of the meanest, hottest fullbacks in europe or even at Tottenham for that matter.

How can you drop someone who has barely played this season? :)

and the only premiership match he has started he was one of the best players on the pitch

Hutton will be another player we let go saying he isn't good enough, get a regular game somewhere else and play outstanding.

Some players need regular games to stay sharp, others (King) dont
