Watching the replay, Cole drifts past Lennon who lets him go.
Lennon and Keane are switching positions but Lennon was right by Cole on this occasion. That makes him Lennon's man. When Cole made the run, Lennon just watched him.
If Lennon gave Charlie a shout, then OK. But watching the replay, Charlie just seems surprized when Cole appears in his space.

He's not Coles five yards from goal. Corluka has to be aware of whats around him at that point, infact his fucking mother could have been stood behind him and Corluka wouldn't have known.

Charlie didn't defend it well, and maybe his refexes were slow. But Lennon just watches Cole go.

I can't believe what im reading here, he's posted screenshots that pretty much cover everything and at no time should Lennon have been picking up cole as well as the other blue shirt he's stood with.
How far back do you want his screenshots to go? The kick off.
Corluka doesn't look behind him once, thats very poor defending and as Hoddle said afterwards on sky if a defender has looked around him for more than 3 seconds then thats poor defending. Nuff said

Charlie is our right fullback so he picks up there left sided midfielder who was today I think Ballack and he did minutes before the goal to clear a dangerous cross
Lennon is our wide player on this occasion he was right wing and therefore should be tracking the opposing left fullback when he gets forward
look how Lennon even lets Ballack breeze past him not that he'd do much against Ballacks big ass anyway
Lennon when on the right wing should be tracking Cole everytime he crosses the halfway line because defensively that's his man they match up

No there not too late as they still show what goes on. Yes i know that lennon and Cole run back together, but then Lennon cuts in to pick up someone else letting Corluka pick up Cole and keep the defencive line
I did say (i think) that lennon should have gave a call, but there is no proof that he didn't and it was unheard by Corluka. So we cant blame lennon for that as we dont know

If Lennon stayed with cole it breaks up this 2 banks of 4 and with him picking up the other man he lets the defence well defend.
You could say that lennon should pick up Cole (doottet black line rather than the solid black line that who they should pick up) but then that breaks the 2 banks of 4.

Deary me. Right ok before the game starts you will, in theory all have an opposition player to mark. But for obvious reasons when the game starts you don't follow them all over the fucking pitch(unless you're given a specific man marking job). Now in the pattern of play for the first goal Lennon has Ballack and cole close to him(Ballack being the nearest). At this point there is no communication between Lennon or Corluka. One or two things needed to happen.
From Lennons point of view.
One.
He lets Ballack go and takes the run of Cole, in doing so, he tells Corluka to pick up Ballack.
Two, he doesn't pick up cole and stays on Ballack, he then makes Corluka aware of coles presence.
