Ridiculously physically powerful - pace, strength, tenacity, those telescopic legs... 6 years younger than Yaya Toure, wages perhaps ten times lower, and it's another of those situations (Barry/Thudd, Silva/Van der Vaart, Lescott/Dawson, K. Toure/Gallas) where we have the less heralded or far cheaper signing, yet you'd absolutely not want to swap them out of our squad, whatever an objective, decontextulised assessment might say about who was the better player.

What a player. 21 years old, first European match, up against some two of the most experierienced midfielders in world football, Gattuso and Seedorf. Seedorf was subbed at half time, Gattuso was so dominated that he went mental.
Equal credit to Palacios who has had to overcome his home fans jeering him two months ago to return to his top top form.

Wilsons first half performance was one of the greatest ever displays of a battling midfielder ever seen. Sandros is suddenly turning into a very nice player..like others I saw this team as negative and lacking when it was announced, when it finished it seemed to make absolute sense...
Great great performances, Another shock around Europe and I think Chelsea and Man City will be more worried after seeing this, as we are only moving up the table and one of them is on Channel 5 next season..it won't be us..we now are showing mental reserves, confidence and depth of a squad which is going to take us to a new level.

They didn't work out at Charlton cos we had a front 2 which neither of were creative but with either VDV or Modric in front to give us creativity they're a very strong pairing IMO. Good move by Redknapp 2 solid DM's but we still had the creativity of VDV and the wide players. If we can find the CF we need we'll be top draw

Beginning to show his ability. We might have to be patient but the promise is there. Too early to judge him though but he seems grounded and intelligent so is more likely to fulfill his potential than many young players who begin to believe their own hype.

I really don't get this thinking, just about every team who play a 4231 play 2 holding mids doesn't mean they are negative, ffs brazil do.
I know we play more of a 4411 but they're hardly a million miles apart

Sandro and Wilson were awesome. The thing I like about sandro, is that as well as getting in players faces, there are also times where he allows wilson to close down whilst he tracks runs behind the defence. Total concentration to track the runs.
