What is everyones opinion at the Charlton game? I think he has more potential than Palacios, but is made to look shit in a midfield consisting of 2 defensive midfielders.

Sandro needs to play alongside Modders or Jenas to get the best out of him.

Yeah, I agree. I thought he was going to be the one pulled off at half time but he looked so much better once Wilson had gone off. He did very well defensively and made a few good passes and runs. He shouldn't be paired with Wilson again but maybe Harry thought he needed guidance at first.

I like him... he's got bags of potential.
The few times he's played there have been a few mistakes passing wise, but He is not scared of chasing the ball and can get a really good tackle in when needed.
Could be a star midfielder in the near future!

Top player from what ive seen. What's special about him is that not only can he do the dirty work, i.e. pressing and tackling, he can also play football. He looks comfortable on the ball.

I didn't see the Charlton game but I think he's looked very good in his outings for us so far, bar the Bolton game where he and Palacios played in the middle together and were both pretty awful. I thought he was excellent in the carling cup game against Arsenal and have been surprised he hasn't gotten much time since.

I think with Hudd out he'd be my preferred partner for Modric in the middle (at least on paper), but the Bolton debacle and some decent performances from Jenas seem to have propelled Jenas into Harry's 3rd choice CM and even with Palacios' somewhat Jekyll and Hyde season, he is probably more trusted than new player prone to risky tackling!

I'm a bit concerned that because we're willing him to be a star, we give him the benefit of the doubt much more than we would than to someone like Palacios who, conversely, is quick to become a scapegoat. We look for any sign of potential and extrapolate. The danger here is that we hype Sandro up too much and put undue pressure on him. Hopefully Harry will considered him to have adapted sufficiently, and to be of the necessary quality, to play in more games this season but its still way too early to make a judgement on how he'll do for us.

Hopefully he gets a loan to a premiership club and we get to see how good he really is, playing a game or two here and there isn't good enough for him to settle.

I want to see him start a PL game alongside Modric. Not Jenas, Not Palacios, but Modric. I predict he would do very very well. He seems like the perfect foil for our Croatian maestro.

I'd be surprised if he made much of an impact this season, barring injury to Palacious and perhaps JJ.

However, he will have had around 9 months to suss out what the Premier League is all about and how to equip his game suitably.

I expect him to be given a huge chance during the 2011/12 pre-season (and hopefully beyond).

It was promising. I wouldn't be suprised if he replaces Palacios some time in the future.

He needs a bit more discipline with his positioning though. I don't know if he was just a bit too eager but he was all over the place. Maybe Palacios give him license to role but Palacios sat quite high up in the park as well.

Havent seen that much of him so far but has made a good early impression on me.

Built like an absolute tank and could dominate midfields in the future, with the plus of looking decent on the ball. however he still looks raw for a defensive midfielder (if thats where he ends up playing) and could improve positionally and understandably still getting up to the speed of the game, can dwell on the ball which is ultimately highlighted by the goal conceded at Bolton and I also noticed in the cup game v the gooners.

Overall though looks to have fantastic potential and could/should become a very good player.

Very, very good post.

Palacios is excellent on the ball. A really good footballer for a busy ****. So far I haven't seen Sandro demonstrate any superior qualities to Palacios at all.

I'm not going overboard with criticism here, it's early days for the kid, and he needs to settle in and have a few games to judge, but if anyone has seen a performance by Sandro anywhere near as good as Palacios on a good day it hasn't been in a spurs shirt or their talking out of their arses.

The last good day I remember Wilson having was against Villa, since then he has been hooked at half time in how many games?

Also, before that Villa game he was on one of the most rotten runs of form I've ever seen from a footballer.

Sandro from what little I've seen looks like a player who has the attributes to succeed in not only the Premiership but more importantly for us and how we play. However, it was always unlikely he would make that much of an impact in the short term and primarily I'm sure management just wanted to indoctrinate our style and ethos as a club and also to try to help a young Brazilian adapt to life in Britain.

We need to show patience with not only Sandro himself as a player but also not get on the back of management if he's not starting games suddenly. If the lad is good enough then he'll make it eventually.

While I think Sandro has done a decent job in the little time I have seen him, I don't want him anywhere near our starting 11. He needs time to get used to playing in the Prem and used to his teammates.

Next year will be his breakout year, this year is just to get his feet wet and fill in if we get too many injuries.

Kid has a huge future for us but he's been playing/training straight for over a year now so I agree next seaon will be his time to really shine after a proper break followed by a full preseason he should come out like a monster, teams won't see him coming

I don't hype at all. Of what I have seen from him so far he is the top drawer player and he will get better once he gets used to the Premier League.

Hype him up too much my arse. He's a Brazilian, you can't hype him up too much. He's clearly going to be the greatest midfielder in the history of the world. That's just me being modest, because he's a Brazilian for fuck sake.
