Don't worry guys, I'm sure we'll do alright in this match. Yeah we've got Fryers and Livermore at CB but it's not like they're up against the best out-and-out striker in the world...

I'd like to recommend Zouma/Chiriches and Martins Indi/Umtiti. All young/really young and all have the talent to hack it.
Would farkin' love the first 2 but would be happy and content with life is we got the second 2.

As it is we'll get Rolando and Konchesky in probably. It was all going too well this summer.

Chiriches needed signing about 1 minute before we signed papers with Cardiff. It is more than a little unfortunate that some mad bastard criminal who is currently locked up kyboshes a deal with the player en route to us but eh, unforeseen circs occur quite regularly in life.
Certainly with us Moutinho, Damiao spring to mind, but hey it's never our fault

Interested to see who we replace Adebayor and Ekotto with. Both clearly leaving. With their attitudes I can't blame AVB.

Do you know this? I would be quite upset to see either go without first class replacements, which will not be easy. BAE has his faults but IMO is far better than either Rose or Fryers and to play Verts at LB is a waste of his talents. Ade may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think that he would be the ideal foil for Soldado as he works well off the ball and is a decent provider.

I was thinking more one from "Group 1" and one from "Group 2." If we could get Chiriches and Indi for around 16m total, that'd be ideal.

Chadli is going to take a lot of people here by surprise. He is an excellent player, so long as he can stay healthy.

Also, I'd keep an eye out for Madrid's friendly later today against Everton. Coentrao stayed in Los Angeles with a muscle injury (bizarre), while the rest of the team traveled for the LA Galaxy match. The game today is in L.A., so there should be no reason Coentrao isn't on the bench, as he needs game time if he's going to stay at Madrid.

I guarantee that all the signs were positive from Steaua and then we have the rug pulled out from under us. So unfortunate, really.

Yes, I meant to add on the last sentence of mine "which is why you need to cover yourself". Maybe if we could shift some of our deadwood earlier in the window by dropping the price a little we wouldn't have such little wiggle room. But really, it is a bit fucking much this time. Some fascist prick in jail having any say in matters and being quite, quite mad to boot.

BAE hasn't played in the last three games despite training fine and being fit. Also flew out to Monaco.

Adebayor hasn't played the last two games and someone who is friends with him has said he is leaving and he is strongly linked to Besiktas.

I don't want to see either of them leave but seems they have lost their places

Surprised you didn't mention Semih Kaya, Matthias Ginter or Stefan de Vrij but suppose you can't list everyone!

Didn't JJ say earlier that we have other options at CB? I'm sure we'll bring someone in soon.

Could the French CB possibly be Adil Rami? I know he's been linked all over Europe, and he has the experience to come in and help us immediately. We just did a deal with Valencia, so perhaps there is some good faith left there, and he would be an upgrade to Caulker in my opinion.

Well Les Ferdinand pretty much just confirmed Bale is off, and he is confirmed ITK!

I like Kaya but he'd be hard to pry from Gala. Ginter is pretty darn awesome and de Vrij was very solid for Feyenoord last year but I must admit I do prefer Martins Indi to him. I think Martins Indi fits the mold of the type of CB that can really push forward and seamlessly go from defense to attack. Wouldn't complain with any of the three you mentioned, though. Especially with the state of our CB position right now. Craziness... take a strength and turn it into a weakness.
