Great move all around. I expect to see him do well and one of the bigger clubs will pay a large fee for him in the future (Liverpool is my guess).

when they showed him on our bench Sunday arvo, my heart sank for him. Hope Sonny finds a new best bud at the club.

Good luck Kev, and thanks for that great cameo two years ago.

Probably for the best, certainly for him, but always a shame to see a talented player leave.

Good luck to Wimmer. Had a good first season when Jan was out injured. Couldn't quite make up for it last year.

Good luck to him. I remember how excited he was when he was coming. He put his Twitter cover photo as a picture of WHL with "Can't Wait" written on it. Bless him.

I hope he gets all the first team football he wants, definitely good enough to be a premier league regular.

Cheers Kev, hope you do well.

As for the deal it's a tidy profit on a player out of favour/confidence. Probably be a good deal for all parties.

Good money.

He just didn't seem to be able to hit same heights as his first season, which was a real shame as he was pretty darn good back then!

Has been pretty poor and shakey in most appearances since his first season and we have Sanchez now.

Only concern is he was left-footed but he didn't seem to sure of himself on left of a back three anyways so if Vertonghen not available will either have to play a right footer there (Poch says whaaaaaaaa :eek:) or go back to a back four.

It's kind of a luxury having a left footed centre back anyway as never used to worry about it so much - heck the legendary King was a right footer and preferred it on the left!

Its a good purchase for Stoke. I don't think we really gave him a chance for one reason or another maybe he didn't show enough in training maybe he wasn't up to the standard of Pochittenho intense systems.

Like N'Koudou I hope he doesn't follow Wimmer out of the door, it would be nice to see some of these players we scouted given a bit more chances so that we can make better judgements as fans for the players, a case to shine and challenge for starting positions.
