Friedel - 7 - He's just Brad, init

Walker - 7 - Solid when under pressure second half

Gallas - 6 - Dodgy. Get Daws in asap

Vertonghen - 8 - Hero

Bale - 8 - Best performance this season. Needs to pick a pass sometimes though

Lennon - 8 - Superb second half. My love for the little man continues to grow.

Sandro - 7.5 - Really grew into the game. Although the lack of a playmaker in mid sometimes betrays his limited passing range

Dembele - 6 - Hm, not bad, not great.

Dempsey - 7 - Impressive all action second half performance. I like him.

Sigardsson - 4 - KNEE JERK ALERT - He's not good enough.

Defoe - 7.5 - Another goal. All round game as non existent as ever but he won us the game. Fair play.

SUBS:

Caulker - 7 - Noice.

Friedel - 7.0 couple of great saves in the first half, would've needed something spectacular to stop their goal

Verts - 8.5 MOTM. Looked comfortable at LB, game saving tackle on Hollier. Just awesome

Bale - 7 better in the second half

Gallas - 7.5 holds it all together

Walker - 6.5 scary defending the far post

Sandro - 7.5 beast is the right word

Dembele - 7 still haven't seen what all the fuss is about, tbh

Dempsey - 6.5 much better when moved to the middle

Lennon - 7 ran at them all afternoon

Siggy - 6 really the under-performer in our midfield so far this season

Defoe - 7 worked his socks off

Caulker - 7 friggin' good in the air on our corners.

Hudd/Townshend - NR

I know they had injuries at the back but the man has had heart problems and everything! Had a decent game though.........

Friedel 8 - A few very good saves in the first half kept us in. Distribution wasn't great though.

Walker 6 - Lazy stepping up kept Zamora onside fot there goal and a very other "WTF" moments, like when he tried to win a header he was never going to get to which allowed Hoilett (I think) a good chance.

Gallas 6 - Overall decent, but completely switched off just before Vertonghen made his great tackle

Vertonghen 8 - Superb

Bale 6 - Worked a bit harder, but is bcoming very selfish and a chickens out of too many tackles.

Lennon 7 - Caused them plenty of problems. Final ball wasn't the best.

Dembele 6 - Held onto the ball too much and didn't show himself for the ball enough.

Sandro 7 - Great when we they had the ball. Poor when we/he had it.

Dempsey 6 - Not in it in the first half, better in the second.

Sigurdsson 5 - Very poor

Defoe 6 - Took his goal well and worked hard (there was a time in the second half when QPR were breaking and Defoe was filling in at right back!). Not great other than that.

Caulker 7 - Very good. Dominant in the air in both boxes.

Won't rate everyone as I feel that a lot of players went missing today. Vertonghen and Sandro were our best players though imo.

dempsey 5 - no good on the wing
defoe 6 - took his goal well, but how many offsides ffs?

caulker 7 - got his head to more corners in one match than the rest of the team did all last season

First half 4
Second half 7.5
Vertonghen 8.5

Have to say that I thought Hudd did well when he came on. He didn't have a lot of time on the ball, but he did put himself about a bit with fresh legs. Could easily have tried cruising through those few minutes.

Didn't click for Sig (again) today. I'm not entirely sure why he isn't being effective, but we can't continue to start him in that fulcrum position behind the striker. Shame.

Notable mentions.

Walker, headless chicken, with little movement around him he seemed to not know what to do with the ball.
Gallas, again sloppy with passing, and his first port of call with tackles and interceptions is the stands.
Bale, so greedy in really good positions, we could have had 4-5 if he'd got his head up.

Verts... Can we have 3 more like him please?

Dembele great start but was trying to do too much when we were behind and not showing.

Mug of the day goes to Tony Gale for three notable moments.

Criticising Sandro for "ironically clapping the ref" WTF? just happy to be baled out after a foul as he'd given the ball away...
Then for the "Spurs are being tactically outplayed" which was clearly a not so subtle dig at AVB (from a friend of H's)
Then to top it all off, he said we needed to bring on Caulker and put Vertonghen to LB and move Bale to Wing, then when this was done at half time he said "that's too late"

I know opinions are like arseholes and that everyone has one, but I've seen a lot of people giving Defoe better than average ratings, and I have to ask why?

He didn't hold the ball up, kept poorly timing runs (meaning he was constantly offside) and just generally wasn't at his best today. So I'm struggling to see what made him stand out for some people. This is me being genuine as I would like to know what I was missing.

I would give everyone a 6 and Vertonghen an 8 for being fantastic.
