I don't think it's so much him improving this season, I think it's positive regression back to his abilities. There's no doubt he's improved over the past 2/3 years, but if you only look at it as an improvement you fail to recognize that he's shown a similar level before.

-He was great at Sunderland (their player of the season).
-He was great in his short time at the start of last season, then got injured. When he came back, he played in a team where the morale had gone and under two managers with contrasting systems where, let's face it, no one played good. Unfortunately for whatever reason, because he's English and had one or two shockers in this time, he is made the scapegoat and the vast majority of people said he was shit.
-He has been great this season again.

I also think he is a good character. For one, he comes across well in interviews. He doesn't have a social media account which suggests he's not one to get involved in all the fuss and BS that can come about from that. He just seems to get on with his football. I think he's also a nice guy, I remember Naughton posting this on Instagram, a gift from Danny.

The people that just slagged him off all summer and begged for him to be sold were either 1) wrong, 2) extremely shortsighted, or 3) dumb.

Ben is only 21. He'll improve. Having him lets Poch rotate the fullbacks keeping them fresh and makes them work hard. Ben will work really hard in the Fiorentina game as he'll want a spot in the cup final as will Rose for the Arsenal game.
Absolutely love this!

Absolute great performance from Danny today, he was the only player that created width and excluding Kane was out most attacking player. Could have done better for goal but he made an unreal challenge about 30 seconds before that. A lot of people were banging on about Davies earlier in the season, I just hope you've come to your senses.

Tbf Davies isn't too bad either. Rose doing really well though. Think he might get a cap at some point.

If only we could give Davies Rose's speed and attacking intent. A blend of both of them would be ideal.

Davies will ultimately become our best left back. He's a better reader of the game. Doesn't have Rose's pace, but neither did Corluka and he was a master of it.

Fair play to Rose though. He has shed a bit of weight and is getting back faster, not leaving huge gaping gaps like before. That was why I got fed up with him.

Poch seems to rotate the fullbacks if we play twice in a week (which we do very often) so definitely room for both. Just hope Yedlin is good enough to rotate with Walker.

Yedlin definitely is good enough to rotate with Walker. Absolutely no question.

His pace is frightening. He gets caught out, he gets back fast. He is faster than Walker.

No sweat, I still think he'll be gone.:)

We could also do with selling Walker and using all the overpriced transfer fee for him to buy Clyne.

*not betting on that though!

I do actually very much like Nathaniel Clyne.

I know he's fast but haven't seen him play so can't judge.

No one here knows if he is good enough yet. He had like one or two good games for the US in the WC apart from that he has spent his time playing in a rinky dink league and it's not like he racked up goals and assists for the Sounders. Pochettino obviously didn't think he was ready since he sent him away with the US squad for some friendlies.

Game after game he shows why he's the no.1 LB at the club and gets picked for these matches. He's solid defensively and he's great going forward and he'll get better still. He didn't put a foot wrong all game other than getting burned by Welbeck and that's no disgrace as the lad is bloody rapid. No one could question his commitment today, he showed so much aggression and determination late on when Arsenal were pushing for an equaliser. Davies might have his time in a couple of years, but for now he's rightly the back up to Rose

Why's my post turned into ... Lol?

As I said, I like Nathaniel Clyne and believe I posted back in summer I'd be happy if we got him in.
Ah, though you was pointing out my stance on rose. lol

Yeah, clyne is exactly what we need. Agreed. :)

Scares me at times but a good outlet going forward. He looks like he's got a good engine too.

Also, I like that he's a bit of an annoying little shit. Opposing fans have had a go at him a few times this season and you can see he wound up welbeck yesterday.

He had a fantastic game yesterday. I thought he was really poor last season but he has come on leaps and bounds and deserves plaudits for some of his recent performances.

Also, something I used to hate but now I absolutely love is that he is a tenacious little bastard, same with Mason. It took me a while to understand that we have needed that grit and passion. For me it was those traits that were the difference yesterday!

Our best LB by a mile. Anyone who slates him andstill thinks Davies is our best LB need their heads checked. Davies havs done nothing betterthan Rose this season.
