Hello everyone, it's nice to meet you. I've been an American spurs fan for about a year now and it's been a blast supporting the club. COYS and here's to a great season.

on topic: I feel like both Rose and Davies have a role to play in the squad, Rose and his inclination to attack might lend him to be the better LB option in games where we dominate possession. Davies is to me is more consistent and reliable defensively and his strong concentration I think would help against the better teams. I'm glad we have both in the squad, tho, we're really blessed with some great fullbacks, especially if rumours about Yedlin coming are true.

What kind of Spurs fan were you before that?

Davies and Rose will compete for the LB spot which can only be a good thing. We also have a Belgian defender who was voted best LB in the World Cup and whether he likes it or not is the best 3rd choice left back in the League by a mile, probably in the world. I would say LB is no longer a weakness !

Well I did support Manchester United as a casual supporter when I lived in England for a couple years in elementary school I'm sorry to admit, so I guess not a very good one haha.

So here's a thought, I wonder why Rose suddenly looks good...maybe because he's playing under a manager who actually knows what he's doing, maybe he's not being left exposed by basic tactics and no discipline or structure...

Sat in the East Upper today so I got to see him close up, the boy played very well and had a better game than our brand spanking new signing Davies...I know crazy isn't it. The club handed him a new 5 year contract for the sole reason for making money on him, don't you know

Hope he carries this on just to shut those clowns up who were putting him down :)

Rose was one of the players who suffered most from our system(s) last season - so often left exposed and was rounded on. Think this year he'll show his worth to the squad.

What's that got to do with him continuously losing the ball and slowly jogging back to his own half?

It's going to take more than a couple of meaningless pre-season friendly performances for me to join the 'Rose is the new Maldini' club. Let's see how he does in competitive matches first.

I didn't say he is the new Maldini.
His attitude stunk at times last season but he was often left without any cover. His best spell was early on with Chadli in front of him allowing them to form a partnership. We had no coherence down our left side after that initial spell so he often came unstuck.

I'm glad we've got competition in Davies, and have no real investment in Rose personally doing well. However of he does then that's good for the club.

From what I saw of the game yesterday, Naughton and Rose both played very well. Maybe Poch's coaching is already having a solid effect on some of our players?
