Any of you see the Liverpool v Soton game today? If so, you couldn't fail to have noticed how well Ward-Prowse played. He mostly plays the same position as Lennon but plays as many of us would like Lennon to play. I say, forget buying Schneiderlin and let's offer Lennon to Soton as part of a deal to buy Ward-Prowse.

Ward prose and Lennon are very different players?

I don't know what it is, but while everyone talks up ward-prowse, and he's young and English, and from what i've seen looks like he's got tons of potential... why's none of the big clubs come calling? Same thing with him last year, he was being touted as tnbt, a future England regular, etc. yet i didn't see any bids go in for him. Not one. It's not like anyone's even been after him and he's demanded dumb wages that i know of. So what is it? What are the top clubs scouts/physios/coaches seeing that we don't that means they aren't prepared to take a gamble, when virtually any other English youngster at his age is being snapped up by a top six side?

I was really excited by the striker like runs he made in preseason, and was quietly thinking this might be the season.

Yesterday it was the same old tripe shit from him.

West ham away isn't easy to judge though so we will seE come around October. But now Im already thinking it will another typical Lennon season

No more than 4 goals
No more than 5 assists in over 40 games

If lennon continues like this he should be leaving first. Lennon has actually benefited from the constant managerial change as people keep think he may kick on, had harry been here we would of gone by now

He's a good PL level player, but doesn't look like he will reach a higher level. If we are going to a genuine 433 we'll need someone with more end product in the front 3.

Does usually put in a shift defensively though.
Not good enough for a 4-3-3; used to love him as a player (still do to a lesser degree) but if we play him in that formation next season his limitations will be glaringly obvious.
Ahhh... 4-3-3, what should've been.

Managers dislike writing complicated names on team sheets.

Come on Harry put in a cheeky bid for aaron say 7mill - we will give QPR 4 more for Remy.
Look the boy might be a nice boy, super quick, talented - however he has had too many opportunities to progress past the the one with talent, can grow into a really good player.
He simply cannot shoot and finish of goals with enough regularity for the position he plays.

Can't say I agree with a lot of this. He was extremely important last week v West Ham and a decent squad player. Never bitches and moans about not playing, works relentlessly up and down. I'd rather keep him as back-up, he's a handy little player to bring on for the last 20 minutes. He's homegrown also, so that helps the quota.

has Dier equalled Lennons goal return from last season after 2 games?

Asmir Begovic managed to do that! Dier has actually bettered Lennon's monumental return of ONE GOAL (home vs stoke). I would absolutely love to see someone come in for Lennon. For all the stick Dawson gets, I feel that Lennon is far more culpable in terms of 'holding us back' than Dawson ever was. You simply cannot accommodate a non-scoring or assisting 'attacker' in a 4-3-3. Compare his stats to those of pretty much any other attacking player in the entire league and I guarantee you'll struggle to find any other play with such a poor return of end product.

One way of trimming the squad is to let Lennon go at a more or less giveaway fee of say 3 million pounds. He won't be effective in Poch's formation as he can't shoot.

As we bought him cheap, maybe 1 million pounds, that still represent a 200 % profit after we've had his service for almost 10 years. We have also to think of the wages saved as I think he must be on about 50k a week.

Oh yeah I agree he performed really well early last season, but his stats were still pretty woeful
True but whose stats were good under AVB?

IMO Lennon never recovered from that hamstring injury. I remember how important he was for us in the first half of our CL qualifying season season and then thinking how good him and Bale were going to be. Sadly it never happened:(
