Spurs via Twitter: "We can confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return home for personal reasons. This is a private matter and so we will not be providing any further comment."

How strange. I guess we never know what happens behind closed doors.

As much as I don't care for him as a footballer for THFC, I hope all is ok.

He's gone home looking for some consistency.

Joking aside, all the stuff about his mum was a bit weird. Hope he can come back and help out the team soon, we need him.

Whatever we think of him as a footballer, when something is wrong in his personal life, his mind, or with himself then he deserves our full support, like any of our players do.

I hope there is nothing seriously wrong.

We did hear rumours via ITK that there were concerns over his mental state so....

He has been through some pretty major shit, so I wish him all the best and hope he gets whatever's up sorted.

Guess that's pretty much the last we'll ever see of him

2 expensive contracted players sent home on unexplained & indefinite leave?!?!

That's disappointing. Was hoping he was going to be available over this busy period and would be more motivated given he hasn't featured much recently.

Obviously if its something serious in his home life that takes priority but the timing is seriously crap.

More to it than meets the eye I reckon though, wouldn't be surprised if that's the last we see of him in a Spurs shirt.

Whilst I wish Ade all the support he needs to get over whatever the issue is, from a purely selfish Spurs fan point of view, I would rather this have happened now than in say early Feb/late Jan. It must surely force Levy's hand in the forward dept.
