We did hear rumours via ITK that there were concerns over his mental state so....

He has been through some pretty major shit, so I wish him all the best and hope he gets whatever's up sorted.
I think there might be a bit more info coming out soon. An injured mind is as severe as an injured body.

Without knowing for sure what it's down to, if it was down to maybe causing a bit of unrest then it's a good move even if it leaves us a striker short. Maybe it's something else but he does have a history of being difficult.

On the other hand If it's illness or mental anguish then I wish him all the best

Whilst I wish Ade all the support he needs to get over whatever the issue is, from a purely selfish Spurs fan point of view, I would rather this have happened now than in say early Feb/late Jan. It must surely force Levy's hand in the forward dept.

Aye: if he's gone potentially indefinitely, we're short up front

Shiny new striker time :)

If it was down to unrest/negative squad stuff then I very much doubt we'd comment publicly. That would surely just antagonise any player to come out to give their version. This seems legit to me.

Does raise an eyebrow though. I mean all the ITK, not being selected recently, his history for being difficult.

You add it all up and it would appear this is the start of the phasing out.

All the best to him - hope he gets himself sorted out for his sake.

So now we have two strikers for the time being. What do we do? Play Lamela as a striker? Bring back Shaq? Or promote another kid into the squad to cover?

Somebody has a good opportunity.

Yup, drawing wages on a perfectly valid contract. If he's not in the squad and he hasn't breached contract then it's on us, not him.
Yip. Not saying it's on him at all. I don't know who the Ade situation is on, but the BAE situation is on the Club as far as i can tell.

So, people thinking/hoping that this will force our hand in the transfer market and bring in a quality forward player for the long term, just coming into his prime...

'Ade's gone home...

3..2..1..

We are very happy to announce the return loan signing of Jermain Defoe...'

Even more responsibility shifts onto Kane now, I hope we don't run the guy into the ground...

I also hope Ade is back & sorted out ASAP.

Chadli and Lamela can both move up to play off of Kane or Soldado - like Kane has been playing off of Bobby recently- in my opinion.

That post was so quick you were actually offside.

Mate, just don't.

It's disturbing because it's realistic. Robbie Keane as well?

The even more worrying thing is that with the way we have been playing...seeing Robbie Keanes shit (but on the other hand amazing) celebration would probably raise the biggest cheer of the year!

I can just see these options going round Levy's head...

Oh dear.

I think already questions were being asked about Ade and these days when anyone might see him getting on a flight to Africa when the team is going in a different direction and post it on FB or Twitter or wherever it's not something you can keep secret. Far better to make a simple announcement like they have and refer to personal issue and try and curtail speculation

Of course it could be a number of different reasons but the timing on the back of recent speculation makes you think there could be something in it
