Africa Cup of Nations: Morocco fails to meet deadline
Morocco have failed to meet the deadline to confirm it will host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in January.

The North Africans had requested a postponement because of fears over the Ebola outbreak.

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) refused the request and set a deadline of 8 November for Morocco to confirm they would host the tournament.

The deadline was also given to any countries who may want to step in as replacement hosts.

We will know more on the 11th of November when they have an executive committee meeting in Cairo.
I hope they postpone it

So do I.
African fans I talk to are the same as "England" fans- they think more of the EPL clubs they support than their national teams.

If there is any ebola related danger, then postponing it would probably be for the best. On a purely footballing level, I hope Togo go all the way.

Even the Africans are overly paranoid... Morocco really shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I don't think thats true, bro

I watched Fox news and they said all of Africa has it and that Ebola is teaming up with Isis to try and attack America

Well 3 ways to spin this now if its postponed: Ade stays in January and we're fucked. Ade gets sold, we dont replace him and we're fucked. Ade gets sold, we replace him and all is well.

3rd scenario is the least likely. First scenario is most likely. 2nd scenario is in between, but i'll take it because at least then we wouldnt have to deal with his shit anymore.

In the highly unlikely case of the 3rd scenario...Bony?

So, CAF are as bad as UEFA & FIFA then - don't care when there's some greenback to be made.
Even St Bob's got off his arse to help with the Ebola malarkey!

So, Marocco banned for the next two tournaments and fined £13m for refusing to go ahead, and have been replaced with Equatorial Guinea.

I think it's mental going ahead with a football tournament while this is happening. It's in bad taste, and highly dangerous to have all these thousands of people moving across the continent to attend a sports event.

Couple of things not mentioned so far....

Equatorial Guinea were disqualified six months ago for fielding an ineligible player (a Cameroonian) against Mauritania but kindly offered through their President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to host the tournament having hosted it 4 years earlier.

President Obiang has been in power since a 1979 coup. Despite being the 3rd largest oil producer in Africa revenues are a 'state secret'.

Equatorial Guinea is considered of the 12 most corrupt countries in the world
.

That's how you get reinstated after being disqualified. It's not just FIFA.

As for Adebayor ,,,, he probably isn't going. Togo beaten 1 - 4 at home to Guinea (Adebayor scored) now have to win in Ghana on Wednesday to have any chance of qualifying.

I just don't understand how ACN games are carrying on in and involving nations where Ebola is rife ?

Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone for example ?
