The goal today takes him up to 12 goals and 7 assists in 45 appearances for Brentford this season, quite a few goals from free kicks in there.

Definitely an asset to have for Spurs next season, but being in the play offs with Brentford probably ends whatever chances he had to play in one or two of Spurs final games of the season.

The first play round will be Alex Pritchard (no 10/left forward) for Brentford v Ryan Fredericks (RB) and Midlesborough !

very pleased for Brentford and Pritchard

I always think of Brentford as making it to play off and Wembley finals and then ending up losing

Fully expect this to happen again

Subbed off-slightly worrying that he doesn't finish games recently.

He was subbed against Derby because he picked up an injury which forced him to miss the game against Sheffield Wednesday. It's understandable that he only played an hour of their next match, so really you're getting worried that he was subbed with six minutes remaining against Reading.

I am just hoping he hasn't got a niggling injury.

I suspect we're looking to bring different competition in for Chadli, and Pritch will challenge at the No 10. Eriksen needs competition, and we haven't exactly had anyone performing there consistently anyway. Pritch's skillset and physical ability is perfectly suited to the No 10 in this congested system, absolutely perfectly. If the links with Thauvin are true, I'd be very surprised to see us have two more creative type attacking mids flanking Eriksen and insufficient pace. Would maintain the exact same problems as we've had this season, and I like to think Poch has learned his lesson.
ng to get shot for this but I think Pritchard will replace eriksen and we may sell him in 2016 if Pritchard works out

I really want to see Pritch get his chance next season which is part of the reason I'd like us to move Lamela on.

And from a totally dispassionate perspective, do we really want the Premier League further devalued by a club like Brentford in it? I'd rather see clubs like Wolves, Derby or Ipswich go up. Decent histories and fan bases and can make a go of staying up for a few years.

Did you think the Premier League was 'devalued' when Swansea were promoted?

Honestly, I don't think that's anywhere close to the craziest thing I've seen posted here. I think Pritchard will surprise folks next year, not just for his talent but because I think he's much more suited to the role in Poch's system than even Eriksen. Unless Eriksen really ups his game and adds some zip/dynamism, I can certainly see Pritch pushing Eriksen for genuine minutes sooner than most would guess.

No. Swansea = big city, big fan base, decent ground and crowds.

I felt it was devalued all the years a piss poor club like Wigan wasted a space in it. Same with Blackpool. Neither team has a big enough fan base base to support a Premier League team. Look what's happened to both of them now.

Both Brentford and Bournemouth have got where they are with the aid of Sugar Daddy money and I'm always with the clubs who've got a bit of heritage and a fan base that rightly belongs in the PL. Leeds, Wolves, Norwich, Forest etc.

And the Premier League has been a declining brand in recent years due to failures in Europe and this won't be helped by the site of two 12,000 seat antiquated stadiums.

The odd one makes a nice story, but two clubs in one season added to Watford isn't a good thing in my opinion.

Load of arse, it's great to see minnows in the league and happens in all leagues around the world.

This season in the Spanish league there is Elche in La Liga for the first time. and look like staying up, Cordoba who haven't been there since 72.

In Italy you have giants like Sassuolo.
In Germany a 29 year old club SC Paderborn 07 are holding thier own and a club like FC Augsburg are occupying a Europa league position.

Will love seeing how Bournemouth and the Bees do (if they get there)

And just happy to see Pritchard a couple more times this season TBH...

You'd rather have Leeds back so they can come to White Hart Lane and sing 'Spurs are on their way to Auschwitz' again?

I'm not sure how you've decided Brentford have a sugar daddy. They have one of the smallest budgets in the Championship. The only money they spent in the summer was what they raised from selling their Player of the Year from the previous season. They have first team squad average age of about 25 and have made some very shrewd signings, often from lower leagues (such as Andre Grey, signed from Luton in the Conference, who has been their top scorer this season) loans such as Pritchard, or picking up young players who are not wanted at higher level teams (such as Jake Bidwell, signed on a free transfer from Everton.)

If the Premier League is a 'declining brand' it certainly hasn't shown in the value of TV deals, and I seriously doubt overseas viewers who watch it for Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea etc would really care about the size of Bournemouth's stadium. Did people stop watching La Liga because Eibar got promoted with their 5,250 capacity stadium? Unlikely. And if Brentford do get promoted, I believe they may have to groundshare as Griffin Park doesn't meet requirements (nothing to do with capacity, but things like size of media areas, undersoil heating and floodlights) and their new 20,000 seater stadium won't be built until the season after next. Having been to Griffin Park on numerous occasions, it is certainly no worse than Loftus Road.
