Sucky sucky, love you long time.

Just kidding, could get us Rico Henry, Ademola Lookman for starters...

We could get them anyway though.

People who are saying that £8m is a good fee are missing the point though aren't they? We don't need to sell as we don't need the money and if we do sell we need to replace him with another player who will need to get up to speed with the philosophy and tactics, that's even if we find said player. It's just another unnecessary upheaval job really. Managment rate him because they handed him a new contract.

£12m for Townsend was good money because that was a player who didn't fit the system and a player that the club didn't want, with Pritchard it's a bit different.

But the additional 8m with the Townsend 12m combined could make the difference between signing Joe Average and a worldly player , no?

Perhaps Pochettino sees a youngster (Winks ?) as potentially at least as good as Pritchard and ready to be blooded into the first team squad ? They can't all be kept and given the game time they need to progress so hard decisions have to be made.

I'd be disappointed to see Pritchard go as i've always thought he had a lot of potential. He's not averse to getting stuck in either so should suit our system.

The worry is his injury record. £8M is nothing for Pritchard if he stays fit as he has talent in spades but I also worry that he is going to become a permanent sicknote. I think this is a decision that should rest with our medical staff.

It is unlikely that a 23 year old that has never started a league game for us will propel us to the next level. Best to trust those who watch him with his peers every day. If he's put up for sale its because Poch doesn't rate him, I respect his view.

We need to find him first, there's no guarantees that another Delli Alli will walk through the door and the irony is that he himself only cost £5m.

Pritchard was meant to be that player who would step in once Townsend left, he was given a new contract in the summer after all.

Alli and Onomah were both behind Pritchard last summer. Now he's down to 8th in the AM pecking order

Seems a silly decision if true but hey ho coaching staff see far more of them than us.

Maybe he shagged someone's daughter (or son)? :cautious:

If we sell him it will be coming from the player I would think.

But if he's not showing himself up for the battle Poch would let him go.

If he stays and fights he should see plenty of minutes as I think we're having a re-jig.

With Alli playing more minutes at no.8 and Kane at no.10.

Which would explain why we're seemingly in for 2 quicker strikers.

This would also solve the cover Dembele's suspension and his inability to play twice a week - and add greater pace to lead the line.

I'm in the "Trust poch and the coaches" camp with this one. I know I'm not alone in saying that I had high hopes for the guy but ultimately he's not a youngster anymore and with his injury record and lack of PL experience 8m would be fantastic money. Saying that I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to see him really push on and become a top player.

Winks is a CM not and AM and his skill set is completely different. If it was a youth player stepping up instead of Pritchard, it is likely Onomah (though he is also a CM IMO and also has a different skill set to Pritch) or Edwards.

Look he is average to good. Nothing more. At 8m, its a good return for us. Stop your sobbing SC :D
Most people said the same (or worse) about Kane. Unless he's given a chance we won't know.

He looked great for the U21s last summer and was Motm in the next gen against Barca. Definitely got talent. Injuries is the big question.

What would £8m do for us though?

It goes into the transfer budget so we get better options. People complain we don't buy players to be in the first team while at the same time keep unproven players as back up.... I think last season when Dembele was injured had proved that another experienced player is required and 20m might not get u someone base on current market.

I would like to see him have another year too, but I wouldn't blame anyone if he was sold.

He looked good at Brentford but he's 24 years old and has missed a whole season through injury and we do have good options in his position.

I don't mind either way and I do love to see one of our own come through but I can't blame Poch and his ruthless approach if he gets rid. Some of you are reacting like we're selling Kane!

Again, we don't need the money to put back into the kitty - if a player becomes available who the manager likes then we will look at him regardless.

Well that might explain why Son's been linked with a move away too as well. Would be very homophobic for us though :p
