He tempted me into the forums back when there was that random chat box on the front page. Damn you Ali Gold.
Same here, I think a lot of us in those early days signed up because off AG. Wish her still contributed ?

And you had a far more original and hard to remember user name if I remember correctly ?

Been a weird summer for Ali.

He's been getting a lot of stick for "getting it wrong" and "knowing nothing" because he reported that we were getting Conte, and then Fonseca.

Fucking weird thing to criticise him over as by all reports we were incredibly close to getting Conte and Fonseca.

If anything, this summer proved Ali's links to the club even more.

The thing is people talk about him and criticise him as though he's a forum ITK. He isn't, he's a professional journalist who happens to be a spurs fan. I find the criticism he gets way off the mark but thats the social media generation for you. I love that his videos arent 10 mins of flashy graphics and are just an hour chatting like he'd chat down the pub with mates. I like that he prvoides context. I like that he doesn't get hyperbolic. I like that he is balanced. Fuck the haters AllyG if you're reading ;)

Haha. I did - you’ve got a good memory. I actually thought it was quite original in just how obvious it was ?

I dunno why but his last video really rubbed me up the wrong way.
I eagerly wait for his new vids- They are very informative and from one of our own!
I enjoyed his trips around the building site that turned into the new stadium- they were hit and miss with quality but all done from a good place.
I hope this thread stays open as he raises some good points that can be discussed here that are not always on other parts of this site

I really like his videos. Not because I am waiting for streams of information but because he seems genuine and I think gets the tone right. I don't take his videos or information as gospel but enjoy them. The guy seems to work like a trojan too ( along with Rob Guest).

He's a top guy and a great listen. Yes he rambles a bit and he needs to stop correcting himself or taking the pee out of himself for tiny mistakes, but he talks how most of us would hope a Spurs fan would talk. He's grounded, knowledgeable and totally gets the current mood of the fanbase. Really felt for him during the managerial debacle, trying to get any kind of solid footing on what was happening. His poor family

I listen to his videos while doing something else and they're generally good - he isn't one of these fame chasers like Cowlin, Windy or the WeAreTottenhamTV lot - there's nothing false about his approach, he doesn't put on a fake presenting voice, and he doesn't have a silly studio or unnecessary graphics etc, but it's his articles from years ago which got me to join SC. I found them through the old newsnow links to the club before we really had ITK or anything much beyond Teletext! I still remember his sleeping giant articles from the Jol era which made me finally feel good about Spurs after so many years.

Long may he continue and hopefully he might find time to pop on here once in a while - feels like SC is his spiritual home.

Yes his articles were one of the main draws to SC for me along with the Edgar David's ITK at the time If I remember correctly. Top bloke!

Always liked his articles when he used to post them on the front page. I knew that he wanted to become a sports journo so proud that he got to cover his own team and make good connections to the club. Annoys me when people make negative comments about him as he is one of our own from here and just relays what he hears! Keep it up Ally!

He’s a good guy and puts in so much effort and is so passionate about Spurs but my god his YouTube videos are boring and way too long.

I subscribe to his YouTube channel, like a lot of us do. I really enjoy his weekly videos.
Whenever I watch them I can't help but feel like he is speaking directly to this forum. There is rarely a video that doesn't reference the hot topics of this site. I know he used to contribute under his own name, but I do wonder if he has since created an alternative account.

So if you're out there Ally, keep up the excellent work. Maybe in your next video give us a sign you're still keeping an eye on us, perhaps slip in the word "Pasty"
I wonder what the hot topics are on all the other Spurs forums then? ;)

I've genuinely got no idea why anybody wouldn't like him.
He's a fellow spurs fan who clearly cares about the club. But more importantly I think he seems like an absolutely sound bloke. Not big-headed, no ego or self importance. Just seems like a regular guy doing a job we'd all love.

Good for him.
