robofan, as I understand it you work at the club? Perhaps you know the rules on the new format Europa cup. As I'm now understanding it the winners of the league cup do NOT earn an entry into it? Please tell me the source of my info is wrong! UEFA.com implies the source is right.

as i believe, but am double checking, the wording is that they do qualify.

Third qualifying round:

Winners of Football league cup 08/09

i think the only dispute is the position of the FA cup losing finalists if winners are already in CL.

i will try and copy you the original documents from uefa.

I don't see "Winners of Football league cup 08/09"

• Qualifying for the UEFA Europa League consists of four rounds. The domestic cup winners from the associations ranked 52 and 53 in the UEFA coefficient ranking, plus the domestic league runners-up from the associations ranked 35 to 51 (except Liechtenstein), the third-placed side from the associations ranked 22 to 51 (except Liechtenstein) and the three UEFA Fair Play winners enter the competition in the first qualifying round, which consists of two legs played on a home-and-away basis.

Adrian Durham is currently giving it large on Talksport about the breach of deadline rules on this transfer.

Bastards, I knew they would get away with it.

Shame a club can't put in a complaint. Not that it would help I suppose.

And on that note, Steven the caller, what a mong

Shouting down Durham about not having any facts about the signing - some joe public shouting down a radio presenter on a sports station, claiming he knows more

Steve, wake up.

Now there's the argument being put forward that the time difference between here and Russia, having directors in Somalia, one in hospital and one in Israel etc...

Wright is convinced this is all good but until someone reels out the rules and how the Woolwich haven't broken them (for example, can a team register a player before a deal has been completed? This appears to be the case as the paperwork involved in registering him were lodged in time, but the deal wasn't - how can that be possible??)

Good luck to him, he got the move he always wanted, I could say I hate him now but i'd be lying, I still look forward to seeing him destroy defences and light up the premiership even if it is Arsenal, it's unfortunate but he's still my Favourite world player of this generation of players.

Seriously, how can you rate him higher in this generation of world players than Didier Zokora.

I hope he excels against our relegation rivals this season, but in every other game goes missing and eventually gets sold to Wet Spam for tuppence having been proven to be Milan Baros of Russia.

maybe im being naive but i really just dont get any spurs fan that would want ANY arsenal player to do well. Im not knocking it, I just really could not imagine any situation where i would ever come close to feeling like that. seems completely alien to me

If him doing well means we stay up, I'll tolerate it until the end of the season.

They'll probably find a way for him to be in their fucking Champions League squad even though he is cup tied, registered late, illegal transfer etc. Absolute joke.

This'll be interesting - Steo was moving from Brum to Stoke on loan - all the paperwork submitted before the 5pm deadline but he was unable to sign before it passed. They're awaiting a decision, lets see if they get the rub...

Their needs to be an enquiry into this, it's ridiculous. You just know if the whole Arsenal team had been food poisoned on the night before the biggest game of the season something would have been done about it as well.
