Or you know, Ange also wanted Fati for more than one season.Welcome to Levy Ange. Better get used to it

Rinse and repeat until their contract expires? Fucking obviously genius. No we want to sell those players. If we can’t sell them, then loan with an obligation. If the buyers don’t want that, then a loan without any option or obligation is better than paying their wages whilst they stink up the place.
Fucking obviously.
Even though Kane was supposedly going to stay 24hrs before the deal was done?
now, I’m sure that was conjecture but what if he hadn’t left? What if he signed the deal last January or whenever? We signed Richarlison well before that so I’m not sure that can be used as a cogent theory
I don't so much have a problem not getting him if we didn't think the deal was right, it's more so the fucking about when we're fairly desperate for major ins/outs.
For context:
- We've been pursuing Fati for ages (backed up by ITK), since at least April (and yes, we didn't have a manager then...)
- At some stage yesterday the deal was "agreed" and flights/medicals were being arranged
- Levy then jumped in and pulled the plug as he wasn't happy with the terms of the deal
- If it got that far, you'd assume Ange was happy with it and you'd also presume that we cooled our interest on other targets
- We've had since at least April to ask whether they'd include an option or not, that wasn't a surprise
- It all stinks of Levy playing games and looking for a deal
- There's two days left and once again, Levy will be caught *snigger* short
If we get Johnson and a CB and this was just a "punt" that didn't work then fair enough. If this was our main attempt to give Ange the attacking players he needs for this season then we've fucked up yet again.
I'd like to hear more...aside from the stadium. A highly desirable asset and project that he successfully masterminded and promised significant investment on the field.....to which we've yet to see him strengthen in a transfer window.......I'm all for it, what things has he actually done right, in your opinion?
Sadly this isn’t entirely made up though is it?Completely made up scenarios are very tiresome.
This isn’t a discussion about Levy’s whole tenure. My point was that not signing Fati on a loan without obligation / option to buy isn’t in our interest. That’s a good call by Levy.
People need to be able to hold two thoughts at the same time. Levy can earn praise while still being held accountable for his other failures.
Because he is so fixated with winning the deal it doesn’t matter if that leaves the squad shortIf that is true it begs the question why does Levy intentional or not seem to be fine with screwing his manager over.
It’s your manager Mr Levy! That would be like me hiring a builder and throwing some of his tools away. Why create a situation that undermines your own manager and make its harder for him to achieve his objectives.
You don't know the reasons either, so it's pointless making up little scenarios in your head to make you and the other kids angry.Sadly this isn’t entirely made up though is it?
Reason for not signing Fati?
Reason for not signing Tapsoba?
Now of course I facetiously made up the conversation but tell me why neither transfer took place?
Because he is so fixated with winning the deal it doesn’t matter if that leaves the squad short
In isolation yes. In context of it being 24 hours to go in the window it’s another almighty fuck up. We’ve sold one unwanted player all summer, and we’ve ended up in a situation where if we get a CB and a WF in (which we’ve needed all summer) everyone will be grateful even though that means we sold our best player and didn’t replace himThis is the point I've been trying to make in other threads.
I do not like Daniel Levy. I do not like ENIC. I want them both to fuck off.
However, so many people on this site apply no logic to criticisms of Levy and constantly rewrite history, which make said criticisms seem nonsensical and undermines the whole ENIC Out stuff.
We know Fati isn't Ange's first choice. Very few people on here actually wanted him. Even fewer on a straight loan.
Yet look at the number of people shaking their fists at Levy? It literally makes no sense?
100% agree that we should be doing better this window to replace Kane, as I've said a number of times. Also baffled at the lack of a 2nd CB signing.
But if people put in loads of work into this transfer and Levy said no at the end because there was no buy option, then good. One of his better transfer decisions.
So no Fati it seems.
I heard there was a grand plan for when Kane leaves. Can someone explain what it is?
Or enemiesMaybe the real grand plan was the friends we made along the way...
Surely with this it’s more us then anything. Brighton aren’t a bigger club, or maybe they are and I’m just in denial, so it’s not like Diaz going to Pool over us. Who knows what really happened but this seemed more like us having second thoughts over the terms and then Mendes quickly trying to find a second option because Barca needed him gone asap to get Felix. As I've said countless times Jorge Mendes is a snake and there's no point trying to do deals where he is heavily involved. I'm not saying it's his fault this time around, as I don't know but it's yet another deal where he has been front and centre of negotiation that has gone tits up.
place the 100m to the bank as time deposit or a few artworks for Joe LewisSo no Fati it seems.

Surely all of this just makes it more likely it was an opportunistic signing?I don't so much have a problem not getting him if we didn't think the deal was right, it's more so the fucking about when we're fairly desperate for major ins/outs.
